You'll enjoy Honfleur, I've been a few times and it's one of my favourite places. Although I draw my hotel line at Ibis red.

If you are going to go to Honfleur you have got to go to Etretat, its just up the coast, a lovely little seaside town with some really old buildings and stuff to see, the hotels aren't cheap tho, we camped about a 15 min walk outside of town. Had a great time. Fecamp is quite nice too.

If you go to Fecamp, the Benedictine monastery is there. They make the drink Benedictine and there are tours of the place. Thumbs Up

Many!

Carry a hiviz somewhere on the bike, you don't need to wear it unless you break down.
Supposed to have reflective stickers on your lid, I've never bothered, never been stopped for it.
Take your docs, original V5 and insurance.

You are also supposed to carry a breathalyser, but there is no penalty for not doing so.
I have a yellow vest rolled up very tight and wrapped with gaffer tape under my seat permanently, it is the size of a couple of packets of fags so no biggie.
Just a word of warning, if you want to pull over into the carpark /bogs area immediately after a tool booth, for God's sake keep an eye on cars and trucks pulling out of the booths on your right, I saw someone nearly get flattened by a truck doing this once.

Etretat is another of my favourite places, I am staying there in April with a group of six of us. A lovely little seaside town with lots of bars and restaurants and for it's size a busy place.

I am a little worried about finding petrol stations in all these country roads, is it worth bringing a jerry can?

And how do petrol stations work in France is it all prepay? and if so what happens if you pay for 10eur of petrol and you brim the tank at 8eur?

The helmet stickers don't have to be Hi Viz just reflective I put white stickers on my white helmet and you can't really tell they are there.
Having said that you would probably be OK without them. I have heard tell that the stickers are only needed on helmets bought in France, I haven't been able to verify this yet.

I wouldn't depend on that really. Most of the old Hotel de Villes have had their use changed by now. The one in my village in France is now someone's house, the one in the next village is empty, the one in the next town is now council offices. They all still have Hotel De Ville on the outside.

BillyJ, get a vest, its sensible really, the country roads can be very dark at night, in my village the street lights go off at 10.30 and if you break down you will need all the help getting seen as you can, the French are a bit of a mad bunch when driving.

Don't bother with the breathalyser, you are only encouraging them. I don't bother with the reflective stickers on the helmet either, sod it, if you get pulled be polite and plead ignorance, they will be happy you have got a Hi-viz vest.
