I lent a DS3 controller to a friend, got it back and the bottom of the casing was forced out. I thought it must have been dropped so I took it apart and found this:

I'm guessing that's not normal? Confused

Overcharging?

Pop it and see if a load of electricity leaks out.

Would have been a mini USB cable from the PS3 (I lent him one which he gave back). The controller was completely dead though (it holds a charge), found some info' about unused batteries swelling.

Discharge it completely using a bulb or something so it shows 0v across the terminals then throw it in the bin and buy a replacement on Fleabay. It looks like a Lipo, and if you pierce or charge it it could let out a sheet of flame. If you aren't sure, google 'Lipo overcharge'.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.
