And of course there's the legedary Puch Maxi!
Those are genuine factory variants of a step-thru rather like a DNA!
You think its a bt of a daft idea, but look ow seriousely they took it to try and sell such a bike!
Wasn't what I was looking for TBH, my google fu must be weak. I was looking for a Czeck scooter, I remember that was bult for utlity companies, that was a fatastic creation with a motorbike style tank i the step-through and a 'fake' engine housing that was a tool box, I think! There were a few of them in the 60's. ____________________ My Webby'Tef's-tQ, loads of stuff about my bikes, my Land-Rovers, and the stuff I do with them!
Current Bikes:'Honda VF1000F' ;'CB750F2N' ;'CB125TD ( 6 3 of em!)'; 'Montesa Cota 248'. Learner FAQ's:= 'U want to Ride a Motorbike! Where Do U start?' |

Yes, a lot like those, especially the second and third ones, and I agree it's a 60s phenomenon. If memory serves, when Honda released their first step-throughs in America, they launched a bike versions of the same basic ladies' bike frame, with the addition of a single downward member to support the engine, adding '1' to the 'C' designation, i.e. C51, C71, C91, etc. There's probably more to it than that, and Google says they didn't use Cub engines and were real motorcycles, but they all appear to be likely candidates for the proto-UJM frame concept. ____________________ Safety in numbers |
