Hello guys I just got a used yamaha ybr 125 (2012, 1700 miles on the clock). A week ago the tachometer started to work on and off, and gradually more off than on. Didn't really bothered me to be honest. Tonight with on a "high" speed ride (close to 60 mph) the engine lost power or missed a beat so to say and the engine light came on. Literally just for a second. Little eased up on the rest of the ride but the same happened 3 or 4 times more. Checked the oil level, thats fine. Any ide what could be the cause of this issue? Try to search it online nothing came up for ybr 125.
Similiar experiences for someone, maybe with solution? I am quite hands on just do not have experience with bikes.

Thank you very much.

Erratic electrical faults can be a sod to find.

Just go through the wiring methodically, starting at the battery, and check that everything is secure. Fuses/fuse holders, the main earth strap to the engine/chassis, and the wires to the CDI and coil in particular.

As said, chances are it's electrical. The offending item will *probably* be be located either in the battery panel (locking, keyed side) or in the headlight bowl, as that's where most of the spaghetti is located.

Given the tacho problems, I'd suggest starting in the headlight bowl and working through those plugs first.
