Hello all!

I'm tentatively planning a long weekend on the IoW on my little SV650 (money dependent) & was generally just looking for spots you guys may have visited/stayed at, mainly B&Bs or cheap hotels.

Also which ferry company would you use?

Many thanks in advance. Thumbs Up

Not a hotel, but I did once stay at a great campsite - https://www.heathfieldcamping.co.uk/ - that is motorcycle friendly and has an area for 'non-car' campers that has picnic tables / benches.

Lovely though the IoW probably is, I'd probably go to France instead. The cross channel ferries aren't particularly dear (mile per mile the IoW ferry is the most expensive in the world I believe) and I found the island itself a bit crowded and small. I'd prefer a bit more slave where I could stretch the bikes legs a bit.

Did a weekend over there on the bike in 2015.

Not sure regards Hotel's/BnB's, but if you consider camping I'd recommend the Whitecliff Bay holiday park we used - had everything you could need for reasonable prices when we went and quite near a decent beach and shops etc.

I've only ever used the Wightlink ferrie's, but they're usually fairly decent value and easy to get to and from with.

I wouldn't say its particularly great riding roads, particularly if its a busy day tourist wise, you aren't going to be getting much of a blast in most area's, but its reasonable for pottering around and checking out the sights and views along the way.
