Just started to feel colder here again today, and supposed to be the general trend for a few days now, not particularly sunny with it either - don't think I'll be out much this coming week Sad

And it's usually the weather over the pennines that stops me coming over your way or heading down into Yorkshire. At least (for me) in The Lakes, I can run away quickly if it turns Laughing

The Filling Station is where I always head for first if I'm heading for The Lakes. A nice blat down the A591, cuppa and a bite there, then on with the day's ride proper. See you there sometime Thumbs Up

Had my first proper ride out with my lad on Sunday. He passed his A2 during the week and picked up a Ninja 300 on Saturday.
Nice little run from Northampton to St Neots and back. Just 3 of us, Ninja 300, Ninja 600 and Monster 1200.
I was impressed with the way the 300 kept up. Would show some vid but camera angle was a bit low and includes my speedo. Embarassed

Two days running managed to get out to on the bike.

Thursday I rode from Woking to Virginia Water via Chertsey (back roads, not residential). Then on to Sunningdale and Ascot from there. Took Chobham Road back to Woking then on to Newland's Corner via the A247 to the A25. Didn't have much time so just popped out to watch the sunset – was a great evening. Arrived just as a group of bikers showed up. I kept myself to myself and gave a nod as I "quietly" (if anything on the Monster can be considered 'quiet') snuck out.

https://c1.staticflickr.com/3/2899/33508605326_d1e30a3948_c.jpg

Friday it was another ride past Newland's to Dorking at which time I lost patience with the rush hour traffic (at 3 in the afternoon? I reckon road works) so turned back.

Noticed a bit of a rattling coming from the engine on the second ride, so now a wee bit concerned. Confused

No piccies because I couldn't be arsed, but it was a sunny run up the horseshoe pass today. Not too many bikes, but more importantly, no fecking tourists gawking and doing 3 miles an hour.

Just dodging' about the Lakes again.
Things looking a bit more picturesque with the tops dusted in snow, and I wasn't sure whether to post some of these shots here or in the photography thread, but I was plagued by white skies in the photos today, and I decided they just didn't quite pass muster, so I'll dump em here Razz

Washed the bike thoroughly yesterday, and it was all shiny shiny when I set out. Run off from melting snow, mud and salt soon put paid to that and now it's filthier than it was before I washed it. Bollocks.

Today I did go here:

You always find Fazers in nice places Mr. Green
Chap just recently picked up this boxeye 600, so I directed him to the Fazer owners club. He seems happy enough with it.

And I did go here:

Do you know what? I haven't a clue. Started out into Somerset, got lost. Found myself again. Had a really fun
time turning about 14 quids worth of petrol into speed, noise and fire. The Spacker is not a comfy place to be at 100+.

Thanks Smile More, better shots in the photography thread in Random. And without that pesky Fazer! Rolling Eyes

Went to a job, and the Ponderosa is on the way back... it would have been rude not to stop.

Guildford to Bordon and back at lunch (around 40 miles). Went via some back roads that I used to cycle when I was 12. Which was really odd, kept getting flashbacks from 25 years ago everytime I came round a bend and recognised a fence or tree / bit of road.

Visited a bike shop run by a guy who sold me my first lid + leather jacket in 1996 and my CG125 in 1998. He hadn't changed a bit, shame the same couldn't be said about me Smile

Tried to get a test ride on GSXR750 and MT10. Failed on both counts due to lack of stock for the former and not being main dealer for later.

Left work around 6 and hooned off down to Winchester to blat back home on the A272 (120 miles). It was pretty much empty. It's normally so busy and a struggle. But not this evening.
I was not hanging about (loving the Roadtec 01's), but descended into that weird meditative state where all limbs are weightless, the need to breathe becomes almost non-existent and everything flows with ease and a pre-emptive sense as everything seems to slow down.

Eyes were a little damp for the last few miles. Utter peace and joy.

For a while I've wondered if I already died, and life on earth is purgatory.
Today was different. A reminder that maybe the great philosopher Belinda Carlisle was right, heaven is a place on earth

Yesterday: rode down to the Ace for breakfast and to meet up with a few of the BCF crew. Bit grey and wet in the morning but a decent turnout for the UKMTP "awareness" ride*.

https://i.imgur.com/QkxUQa0.jpg

Then off to do some sightseeing in London and scare a few tourists around the Palace of Westmister while the sun shone.

*Haters gonna hate

Met up with some local Enfield owners before they set off for a jaunt to the Cotswolds for the Royal Enfield One Ride. I unfortunately couldn't join them, so went for a 50 mile bimble around the local villages.

Just got back from the Handpulled rally at Ripon races, had a bit of a chew on sorting a ride for it, original plan was to take my dads 'Viagra' 250 but I couldn't be done with the under powered cruiser so dusted off the triumph to find a link in the chain had seized and the temp sensor on the way out bugger!

Borrowed a friends CB 500 which was on offer thinking champion....it made it 2 miles from my house to my parents before puking the contents of its radiator...swell.

So having missed the group set off I reluctantly took the Viagra Embarassed

Loaded up (the contents of the CB coolant system were just behind me...)
https://i1380.photobucket.com/albums/ah164/Mox3y/Handpulled%20Rally%20March%2031st%20April%202nd/IMG_3038_zpsid8dzgyx.jpg

Arrived about half 6ish (with just with enough daylight to get tent up), ride down was a mixture of getting stuck behind cars at 50 without power to overtake and approaching corners at 55 finding it just wasn't going to make it, not my cup of tea this but eh it got me there.
https://i1380.photobucket.com/albums/ah164/Mox3y/Handpulled%20Rally%20March%2031st%20April%202nd/IMG_3040_zps63o6w1vo.jpg

Ripon race course

Large body of water I had to be kept away from earlier to avoid drowning myself rather than riding back....
https://i1380.photobucket.com/albums/ah164/Mox3y/Handpulled%20Rally%20March%2031st%20April%202nd/IMG_3049_zpsilzj21gu.jpg

Where's the trailer this came in on then?
https://i1380.photobucket.com/albums/ah164/Mox3y/Handpulled%20Rally%20March%2031st%20April%202nd/IMG_3052_zpslyxly35u.jpg

Spent most of Saturday dying in a tent from tainted burgers and overpriced stella (ran out of time to go to supermarket Evil or Very Mad) got out on the bike about half 6 again to go into Ripon get food and see the few sights in this 'city'.
https://i1380.photobucket.com/albums/ah164/Mox3y/Handpulled%20Rally%20March%2031st%20April%202nd/DSC_0236_zpstnkpih1t.jpg

All packed to come home on the 'Suicycle'.... because riding it makes suicide look fun
https://i1380.photobucket.com/albums/ah164/Mox3y/Handpulled%20Rally%20March%2031st%20April%202nd/DSC_0240_zpsd7kdlorl.jpg

Average start to the year but eh bands were good and banter was reasonable Thumbs Up
