I still use the same amount of shampoo as when I had long hair.

I had about three hours out today. Road my favorite roads, visited some old acquaintances, sat on a couple of XSRs, might take one for a spin on Friday.
Brakes are working admirably, just as well as a rogue BT van decided to get a little too friendly on the A6 just outside Clophill. Rolling Eyes

I was out and about and a local shepherd had pulled up at the side of the road to feed it. It had been rejected by its mother so he was going to try and hand rear it. He had 5 that were rejected last year, three made it. This was the first that was rejected. Never seen a day old one, let alone held one. It snuggled up as I held it. Today was one of the good days.

I heard a rumour that snuggling with baby lambs turns you vegan, is that true?

^^^Worse than that, it makes you a smelly vegan.
I've helped during lambing season and it's a stinky business.

Finally some minor good news:

Acoustic bass traps made and fitted...and they work. i.e They reduce the boomy-ness in my piddly small music room.

The PC is up and running again..after 2 weeks of having to use a phone for internet.... it's bloomin' marvellous I can tell you.

Although I write and draw like a child I have at least started planning things a little better.

Audio routing.

Traditional publishers only really like to see
(1) a precis of what the book is about.
(2) a finished draft, spotless, as few errors as possible, double spaced with decent margins.

And even then they don't usually bother to read it unless its been recommended by an agent they trust.

About 20 years ago I managed to get a publisher to read a manuscript I wrote, but I made the fatal mistake of killing off the "hero" right in the last paragraph: badabing! : Big mafia shoot out in the last 2 pages ... I guess the publisher didn't like that ending very much... Thinking

Can't remember why I didn't follow it up or attempt to rewrite it, I think maybe I moved house, never got a response from them, had other things (divorce) going on anyway by then. Then the disk that the manuscript was written on got corrupted (bad old days of floppy disks) and I didn't have the heart to start again.

Years ago I researched my great uncle's World War One army records and discovered that his regiment didn't have a published history which I thought was out of order so I embarked on putting that right. I did nightshifts at the time and dedicated three years to researching it and eventually wrote it on my nightshifts. I approached several publishers who were falling over themselves to publish it as I'd got info that would never have seen the light of day about the regiment. Then I saw what the publishers were offering me and although I never set out to make money, they were taking the piss. I eventually decided to self-publish it and it's still selling quite healthily now. The bottom line is, unless you're JK Rowling publishers will never make you rich.

Gears now literally oiled, compliments of a very nice lady at the Chinese Health Centre who gave me a proper warm-oil shoulders, neck and back work-over, and my 48-hour iron-band headache is gone.
Cool

Spotted a forum member irl this morning, was happy as it's the first one I've seen, also the fact that I recognized him / his bike.

Secondly there was a nice customer at work who I had a good chat with and got him to do something gay with me.

What's that you say? You talked about something other than motorised bicycles and footballs? By Gad Sir,I dare say you even talked about your feelings. I, for one, am monstrously outraged that you should do something that would make you both happy and not hurt anyone else.
How very dare you.
