Fitted a new front tyre to replace the ridiculously oversize one fitted by the PO. I know, I know, I should have fitted the correct size when I first got the bike and did a strip and rebuild. But I didn't. So whenever I removed and refitted the front wheel (well, only twice in the time it has been back on the road) and struggled having to remove the mudguard bolts, which the oversize tyre wouldn't clear, I only had myself to blame.
Time 1300 today - been for a spin. Impressed with the new (correct size) front tyre. Bike feels way more responsive esp in and out of roundabouts. ____________________ 82 not out....1983 Honda LA250 Custom

I took the gsxr out and then had a couple of test rides;
bmw s1000r sport first:
https://i256.photobucket.com/albums/hh163/adam673673/Mobile%20Uploads/20170329_115901_zpsdpp32l9l.jpg
yamaha mt-10 second:
https://i256.photobucket.com/albums/hh163/adam673673/Mobile%20Uploads/20170329_140843_zpszcnisrzc.jpg
took both out for over an hour on a mix of roads. when it came to getting back on the gsxr I suddenly realised how small, narrow and generally cramp and raw it felt, which after nearly 4 hours of riding already, the journey home was horrible.

bmw pros;
those brembos.
comfy position.
heated grips.
engine felt good but it had only done 200 miles so the rev limiter was set at 9k, which got hit a few times.
cons;
didn't actually like the engine noise, the akrapovic can burbles nicely but felt disappointed.
indicator switch doesn't make a positive click when canceled.
Didn't gel with the quick shifter, never felt seemless
yamaha pros;
cheaper
I prefer the looks
handled just as well, if not better
felt more excited from the engine characteristics.
quick shifter was perfect
cons;
seat height. I'm a short arse. I can flat foot the gsxr both sides but I was on the end of my toes on this. it did have the 'comfort' seat so may have made a slight difference.
unsure I liked the twin type feel at times.
felt like I had to study the dash each time I wanted to check something
I have now decided that it's time I do actually sell the gsxr.
I may have decided to keep the speed triple, neither bike is worth the 8 and 12k extra cost on what I paid for the triple.
I should try the triple and the gsxr back to back really. ____________________ || Past: 1991 Kawasaki ZXR 250 ~ 2003 Honda CBR 600 F Sport ~ 2004 Kawasaki ZX6R B1H 636 ~ 1999 Yamaha R1 ~ 1999 Kawasaki ZX6R J ~ 2004 Kawasaki ZX6R B1H 636 ~ 1998 Honda VTR1000F Firestorm ~ K1 GSXR 600 Track bike ~ K6 GSXR 1000 ~ 2006 Speed Triple 1050 || Current: 2005 R1 https://www.adrucore.co.uk |

Fitted the Goodridge brake hoses to the R850R, filled and bled the system and now have front brakes that work a lot better than they did. |

I have a couple of those waiting to go on the Baghira - just making the brackets for them
Out of the box they have a torch-like cycle of full power/half power/ strobe/off - easy to modify on the circuit board to just be full power/off.
Shout if you need the details ____________________ Old fart

Yeah mine have just arrived they are weird looking, I'm thinking of attaching to my new engine bars but not sure at the moment. I was going try to link them so they can work as normal beam; however keeping the flashing for the future.
I'll post up how it goes and keep you in mind if I decide to go down the full power on or off. Thank you. ____________________ CB125>CG125>GN125>ER5>K100RS>R1100RS>K100RS
