Posted this here as I don't mind travelling a few miles to Gloucester or south Wales as long as I can find someone willing to do the job I'm planning on; that isn't priced over the moon.

Don't really fancy buying a welder to try it myself.

Not sure what you are wanting made, but we use ASL precision sheet metal a lot at work.
Ask for Paul Salter.

Comapnies I know of, but don't often use:
City engineering
Robin Butler Engineering

My brother in law is a professional coded welder who used to have a business making all sorts. He is in a 'proper' job now, but is bristol based and might be a cheaper option than going to an engineering firm.
If you PM'd me a bit more detail I could ask him if he's open to a bit of work?

Cheers for the reply, I'm just after two brackets making up for some panniers and a seat plate making. The seat plate would just be a square bit of metal with the sides bent downwards. I could bring the bike to the person so they can get the correct measurements.

Just some of the people I've tried so far have said the jobs are too small and not worth it for their time.

ASL have done a couple of very small bits for me, but then I'm dealing with them regularly so might be an exception. City I think are less likely to be interested in small bits.

I'm not 100% sure what kind of bending facilities my brother in law has, or if he's completely packed in doing private stuff, but I will message him tomorrow to pose the question.

Pretty understandable that they are willing to do small bits if you use the regularly. Because it's not a large job I think that is why I'm struggling mainly.

Well regarding the bending I can always do that myself on the seat that isn't a problem (well I have no idea how I could do it Laughing ). Just would be nice as it would make that a whole lot easier. I'd appreciate if you could let me know either way regarding your brother.

https://www.warmleyforge.org.uk

They do say "no job too small" so they may be able to knock something up for you. They were recommended to me when I needed seat brackets for a car, but I managed to make my own in the end.

Hey Sam, I'm going to see a guy near me about sorting a side stand for mine, also just bought an A-frame to tow my bike behind the bongo from him.
Could ask him for you when I go see him if you want?
