Hi All,
My Fazer isn't very standard, it's got single skin headers, an open Harris silencer, k&n, and a dynojet kit. It's also -2 teeth on the front sprocket.
According to the interwebz a standard Fazer should hit 135mph. Mine shoots very quickly up to 100ish, then crawls to 120 and stops accelerating. I'm guessing with the down gearing it should really plough right into the limiter in top gear but it's still got another 2000rpm to give at that speed.
I'm guessing this indicates that the jetting isn't right?
Is there an easy way for me to determine what it needs to run perfectly?
It feels brilliant at lower speeds, but maybe it should feel even better? I'm not fussed about those extra few miles an hour, it's not a bike for chasing top speeds on, it's more that I don't want to be running it lean unnecessarily, plus it's plenty powerful enough for the sort of riding I do, but who would say no to a bit of extra pull for the price of a couple of jets!? ____________________ I am a bellend, I am a man of constant sorrow, I am a gummy bear, I am a rock. |
