First stage of sorting this bike out:

Forks:

My bars were too high, but they can't go any lower because the forks are pulled 4 inches up through the yokes to keep the geometry low at the front.

There was also a hell of a lot of dive in the front end because the forks are made for a bigger pit bike, with 12" wheels.
So, a strip down, and 2.5" spacer in the bottom of each fork leg, to pull them down has reduced them to a more sensible overall length.
I've removed the same amount from the fork spring too, so the spring rate stays the same.
And re-built with slightly thicker oil.

Result, I can push the legs back down through the yokes, keeping the geometry the same, as it turned in at the correct speed.
But I can now fit lower bar risers, bringing my weight over the front of the bike more.
And, the front end will dive less now as there is 2.5" less travel. It's still got a few inches of usable travel though, so plenty of adjustment to play with.

I've got a pair of PMT-S slick tyres on order, will be with me tomorrow.
I've also ordered another front wheel, to fit up with a PMT intermediate tyre, for when it's too damp to run the slicks, but not wet enough to justify running the full cut wets.
A PMT-S slick on the rear, believe it or not, works well in the wet.
But the front end can be unpredictable.

A quick run down over the damage from Sundays crashes.

Busted caliper. Doh!
Got another on order. Will introduce better protection on the front end next time. Possibly longer axle bobbins, and I will make a different bracket to re-located the caliper further up towards the fork leg, out of harms way.

And my tyres, which were fucking shit. They were 10 years old, and got so hot they turned blue.

I enjoyed seeing the video of it hooning on the track, it looks pretty fast to me, so was surprised how that CRF150 flew past like that.

It's a real shame and a bit upsetting to see the damage from the drop though, and your Brembos lug broken off too. Can it be welded though to save the caliper?

Oh and it was a bit of a bummer you having to leave your monster pit on its side on the track while you helped the injured rider to the side of the track.

If you get stuck, and are waiting too long for a new caliper, I could let you borrow the one you sent me if it means you don't miss a race or anything ok.

Lovely offer dude.
Already got one on order, dude tells me 8th June it'll be here. Razz

Was slightly gutting. Teach me for not crash-proofing it though.

Regarding dropping it on it's side. if I knew his leg was trapped like that before I stopped, I'd have ghostied the thing to help him quicker.
Poor sod was sobbing his heart out. Sad

PMTs arrived and fitted.

Also bought a sprocket for the wet rear wheel, as the one I had on was the wrong pitch.
Saves a job of swapping sprockets over trackside if it starts to rain. can just swap wheels.

Well me and Dam_buster have registered for Whilton Mill this Sunday.
First time I will have actually raced, rather than track day'd.
Actually shitting myself. Laughing

Having the Daytona 190 forces me into the Pit bike Open class, where pretty much everything goes Mod wise, so my 4v 190, will probably one of the underdogs among the grid. CRF150s, Fully loaded MFB engines etc.
Me and Jimbo gonna get eaten alive, and I got a feeling it's gonna be aired on Motors TV. Laughing

Clip of my last track day.

I've entered the open class on 140 - found the 140 class was probably the one to be more worried about - on a 140 you're missing out a good bit to the CRF150s, so you're up against people a good chunk slower in riding level. Does make for 'interesting' times trying to stay ahead when you finally manage to get a pass in on a 150!

From what I've seen of your riding, you should do fine Smile.

Good luck Smile.

Well been talking to some of the regular lads.
Being the last round of the season, all the big boys come to play. Laughing
So there is a chance I'm gonna be up against a few BSB and BSS lads, as they all run in the open class.

Did a few last minute checks on the bike today. Fitted a breather tank made from a Red Bull can, as I dont think having it venting into the catch tray is overly acceptable.

Fresh oil, lock wired sump, Nitrogen inflated tyres. I think we're good to go.

Yesterday's racing went pretty well.
I finished a very respectable 2nd place in my class. Very Happy

I've got a good couple of seconds to find to even get near first, the gap between me and the front runner was huge.
But then the gap between me and 3rd was also pretty big.

The photo of me behind the RM80, was further back in the race, once I managed to squeeze past, I gap'd him pretty well.

Wicked day, looking forward to racing again. Mr. Green

The other pit bikes, I had a good power advantage.
But the CRF150s, were destroying me on the straights. Like, the ability to pull 5+ bike lengths on me. Laughing

Them things fly.

Quick update

Bikes still running. I've entered the BMB Championship this year. Going to be doing 8 of the 10 summer rounds, and possibly a few winter rounds if I can.

Next round is Easter weekend at Teeside Autodrome. Anyone local, come and have a watch. Cool

Ran some testing at Stretton last week. Bike is dialed in well. Little bit slippy on the front end if the track is cold. I've got a softer compound front tyre on its way though, so that'll be getting chucked on the spare front wheel I have. Just in case it's cold.

And she's ready. Cool

Spent yesterday getting bike, and caravan prept for the Easter weekend.

The bike, now conforms to the new BMB regs in every way. Razz
Exhaust is quiet, scared it's gonna eat into a lot of my power, but hey, we're all in the same boat.

I've raised my peg bar up an inch, and fitted some lower profile pegs on, so ground clearance wont be such an issue now when cornering.

Hand guard bars are now covered in silicone hose, to stop the ally hitting the track if I do go down.

Foot brake pedal, and gear selector both have a bobbin on them.

And for Teeside, I have the 35t rear sprocket fitted.
Super long gearing, we're going for 80mph. Laughing

Fresh oil and a new filter fitted.

New clutch cable,
