Landlord has unsurprisingly decided to back old biddy, seeing as they're besties, probably high school sweethearts or something.

Whilst I have no doubt there's no actual legal backing for it, I don't really understand this freehold/leasehold stuff... I suppose it would be too simple for it to be "we're renting this place, its ours to do with as we please as long as its within the tenancy agreement". For the sake of an easy life and not having our tenancy not be renewed when it comes up in 6 months time, I have begrudgingly taken down the washing line.

Now to find the skankiest possible rusty knackered shitty looking rotary on gumtree/in a skip, and put it somewhere as inconvenient as possible at a jaunty angle where the old bat will be forced to look at it 24/7 and see how "unsightly" she finds that.

The letter from HMLandertons did say "...the residents association wish to be flexible and reasonable, and rotary lines are currently permitted..."

I wonder how long it takes for those to be banned too and old bag pisses off the entire neighborhood as everyone has to take theirs down.

Perhaps I can incite a rebellion among the curtain twitchers and oust her in a bloody coup. She may have won the battle, but the war has only just begun. Laughing

You're just playing their game by rebelling. They'll love getting to fight against you and as seen already they will win. You're only making your own life more difficult. Move or get used to the idea of living in a community which has certain standards. Petty as they might seem.

I wish I'd seen this a few days ago, my dog wrecked ours, you could have had it for free. It's well fucked and completely
useless for hanging washing on. But it is a rotary washing line. And that's what is allowed. Cool I'd then use it as a post for a static
line because I'm an arsehole. FWIW if you were one of my tenants I'd have told the old woman to do one.

If it's parked legally, time to put the bike back?
