Stiil if they are using Wonga. Their credit files are fucked anyway.... So a bit of ID theft is not going to cause them any issues Laughing

I guess a lot of them will be screaming for compo though Twisted Evil

One one hand, I wish them the best of luck.

On the other hand... Wonga customers.

It's entirely possible, they did change their target demographic from those that were never going to be able to pay it back to better off people who found a 1,509% rate more appealing. Yes, probably still poor people but consider BCF is composed of rich, doing fine and poor and well as fucktards, normals and fools.

There's no harm in knowing of the data breach, unless your brain is too full already.

They will have customers other than the people who want as much as possible for as long which will be spent on booze and drugs and the fact there's no chance of them being able to repay it isn't of concern.

For example, if you go over your limit with Natwest by more than £10 then they smack you with a fee of £6 per day. That's capped at 15 fees per charging period so you could end up paying £90 for one month which works out at £42 if it's for 7 days.

Whereas if you were to borrow £400 from Wonga for 28 days then you'd pay £89.60 in interest or if it was for 7 days then it would be £22.40 interest.
£50 for 28 days would cost you £11.20 and for 7 days it would be £2.80 interest.

HSBC FTW!
Go into overdraft and you get until midnight that night to balance the account and there are no fees Rolling Eyes Laughing

But I do remember back in the day where they would sting you for £20-£30 for going 50p overdrawn.... Cnuts

Maybe I'm being cynical. But... With GDPR 2018, companies will be able to get rinsed to a massively high degree. I forget exactly but it's like '10% annual group profits or 2 meeelion europes, whichever is the higher'.

So say you're in a highish level of command, in a company with a cack infrastructure and you know you're never going to achieve the levels of data integrity required. You need to get something in place you can't get budgets agreed for in the time allocated and your sphincter is twetntypee-fiftypeeing a lot.

'Leak' something and let it flare up now, because you know full well if you leave it a year or so you're definitely going to go under as a result of a 'proper' breach and investigation.

No?

Seems pretty pointless stealing data of skint people to me. Now a list of Coutts customers details is worth having.

Never know. OK, email spam campaigns are cheap, but if you cut out the useless potential targets you can probably save a bit and make it more effective.

So maybe the breach is just to get a list of people NOT to spam.

Whistle

All the best
