Hello everyone, I heard people say naked bikes are better for driving on the road and sport actually belongs on the track.
Because of my license restriction I will be getting a Hyosung gt125 or Hyosung gt125r.
I will use the bike for going to school and for fun rides.
Are naked bikes more comfortable to ride? Also wondering if sport is more exciting to ride? Thanks in advance Smile

The GT125 and GT125R are essentially the same bike. The difference is the bars. The naked has bars over the yoke, the 'R' has clip-ons under it. The 'R' may be very slightly jacked up at the back as well.

Have a look on https://cycle-ergo.com/ to see the difference.

Which one you'll prefer is entirely subjective. I found the 'R' too leany-forward for my taste. However, you may love it. You'll really have to try it and see.

Oh, and faired bikes are just fine for road use. You may find the fairing keeps some of the weather off of you, although it'll catch more cross-breezes when it's windy.

tl;dr version - get whatever one you want, you'll be able to make it work.

Naked bikes are cheaper to drop, and a first bike is likely to get dropped at some point. Worth considering.
A fairing will add comfort by removing wind blast. At lower speeds it won't make a huge difference, above 40 to 50 mph it'll be more noticeable. Then again, fairings vary wildly in how effective they are.

A fairing won't make a huge difference to riding comfort on a 125, you won't ever go fast enough to benefit from it. Just more expensive plastic to break if you drop it.

Pretty much what they said.

Plus on the "sports" variant your bars are lower - so whilst you'll be tucked out of the wind more, it may feel more cramped for a taller rider.

Performance-wise you'll not see much (if any) difference between them - so choose by going to look at them, sit on them both, then buy the one that your heart tells you to - so you'll love it and want to ride.
