My Optimate 3 has died. I can't complain as I've had it for years.

Recommendations for ones that don't cost an arm or a leg please?

I have an Aldi/Lidl type ( cant remember which now)
and it works well for the £15 or so I paid for it
I check my chargers with meters from time to time to ensure they do go into float mode at 13.65V -ish and it does

Another vote for the CTEK's as both my Optimates let me down.

I have the 0.8 which is fine for a bike, and a CTEK 5.0 which can do up to a 110Ah battery (i.e. large car batteries/caravans etc).

My 5.0 is currently on my car as it's not being used but it looks after my other bikes too. Great quality and great bits of kit.

I'm not certain, but I'm fairly sure my Optimate 4 is the root cause of premature battery failure I've had across 3 vehicles now. It's the only thing that links them all.

Well, there's one other link. If we eliminate you, we can be sure if it's the optimate or not.
