I tend to follow the "how dumb would you have to be?" school of reasoning.

Assad has the upper hand. It makes absolutely no sense for him to go chemical now.

I do actually believe that he Dinduit.

The chemical weapon thing is a modern version of Archduke Franz Ferdinand being assassinated.

Doesn't really matter who did it. Any excuse to get the proper war started.

I am overwhelmed by your evidence.

Murderers never deny their crimes do they? If you want to crush a rebellion and bring people into line, doing something so incredibly nasty that they'd be scared of another uprising isn't such a mad idea. Also there's an incentive to get the war over quickly, again fear can be incredibly beneficial in achieving that goal.

or is it the perfect excuse for him to do it and then say, why would I do that?

<mindblown.gif>

but I do actually agree

Plus you have all the evidence of Assad's previous chemical attacks, which I'm guessing was also a conspiracy concocted so Obama could do absolutely nothing?

Is then now? It smacks of snatching defeat from the jawas of victory.

How exactly? They might have expected Trump to do nothing but all that happened* is they (sort of) lost an air base. They've issued a half-arsed denial "yes we got rid of our chemical weapons a few years ago, during wartime, shortly before they were used" Rolling Eyes and that's all you need to get away with it.

*we'll gloss over how Russia and the US nearly engaged each other.

So, I heard a rumour that PlanetX/Nibiru/Nemesis is really true, and that it is a brown dwarf star system, and that it already entered our own solar system in 2016, and soon entering earths orbit in the next few weeks or months of April/May 2017. (Google it!) and Apparently, NASA and world governments are covering this space event up, and using the war in Syria (or Israel or ww3) ad a false flag event to divert public attention from this astronomical event. The rumour is that If there is major natural disaster in next few weeks or month it is further evidence that the conspiracy theory is true

I'll leave the post unedited though for those who think this was a legit Assad attack and not to benefit ISIS or demonise Russia.

It's disconcerting when you're the only one in the room not wearing a tinfoil hat. I had a similar experience in a shop where I realised I was the only person not talking to myself. I must be properly mental Sad

And Ste that's all true. You have to follow the string and thumbtacks all the way along.

Just been surprised to see ITV news are also toeing the line with the enemy Assad bullshit.

They showed him being interviewed where he pretty much said everything we already know - that him conducting a chemical attack is pure lunacy.

However the report started with clips of the chemical attacks, with a voice-over saying, "Assad claims the attack was staged - Do you think this dying man was an actor, and was was this injured boy not really injured?!"

Assad has no reason to do it. Who do the actions help the most?

My bet is that it wasn't ordered by Assad himself, but more likely someone down the chain in his forces. Has at least a veneer of deniability and is a way to test western response.

Interesting program this evening on the Litvinenko murder. Obviously a false flag/conspiracy, not at all an example of how murder can be sanctioned from the top then denied/covered up.

Why are chemical attacks bad? As in, worse than bombs?

Obviously I'd rather not be caught in a poison gas attack but equally I would not want to be blown up. Why in the eyes of the the world is Chemical stuff next level cuntery?

According to the beeb, "More than 80 died" in the chemical attack.

However a couple of days ago 126 people died when someone Admiral Akbar'd themselves near a convoy

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2017/apr/16/sixty-eight-children-dead-suicide-bombing-syria

Yet the chemical thing is the big issue. It doesn't make sense to me.

It's an interesting point, I think it's like throwing acid in someones face; seen as a really nasty act.
