I want to attach a cheap web cam to an Android tablet via USB port to bring up what is going on with a spotting scope in a bird hide. Will it plug and play?

I'm guessing you have a USB OTG cable? Just tested it with an eyetoy camera and it wouldn't detect the camera, but it powered from the USB so with the right app maybe.

You can't see my responses but it's so he can view up the scope whilst monitoring from the tablet screen.

Only other idea I had was if you could find a compatible wireless webcam. Google would probably be more beneficial here =)

I know it wouldn't be a simple solution, USB OTG cable plus the right app, plus a camera known to work with said app would be my best bet.
