Hi all,

A colleague of mine is interested in getting into bikes, she has a car license and wants to do a CBT as a one day taster to see if she likes it.

Anyone done training in any schools around the London area recently and could recommend somewhere?

Cheers.

Any particular side of London?

Romford close enough? I used Academy about 10 years ago and found them good; wife did a Get On course there a couple or three years ago and followed that up with a CBT for which she needed to go back for a second day, which they were pretty reasonable and up front about. Guy was quite patient and good with her as a nervous chick.

Went to Advantage Wimbledon for my CBT, was ok. Did DAS at Sutton Motorcycle Training, they were fantastic, check out reviews.

There were a couple of people at the Mitcham test centre from Phoenix who were moaning about the retest fees if you fail, something to consider if you're not that confident.

I did mine at Metropolis Vaxhaul (just south of the river) with the final (DAS) test up at Hendon, but they book you in wherever then can get availability.

While the pricing for most stuff at Metropolis can be eye watering the training was not too bad. There was two people per instructor when I did it and I had one day just one on one as the other guy bailed. I passed 1st time with no minors. I guess that says something about them... or me Smile

We use camrider at work and they consistently get good reviews. I think they've moved up to Lee Valley now so probably too far. Don't have any recommendations down that way except avoid Motag and Bikewize.
