Something with two advisories and an exhaust left in that state of decay is likely to mean other stuff does or will need doing on the bike.

I'd budget for fork seals and oil change, new brake pads and potentially seals, air filter, oil filter/oil change, spark plug/plugs at a minimum.

Taking into account it has an unknown problem with starting, then unless you're confident you can fix it then I think you will be wasting money.

Look at Bandits/CB500/ER500/XJ600 type bikes. Plenty around to choose from so prices are relatively low and easy to source parts for.

I bottled it.
I reckon someone will take that, fix it and then flip it for a tidy profit. That person ain't me.

I've just seen a 2001 SV650 for £650 though with a 12 month MOT... Watch this space.
