Basically I was naughty lad and got myself suspended through "totting up" too many points (12 points) and got myself banned for 12 months. My ban is coming to an end and I'm not sure at all what will happen with my license, points or insurance?

Ie, does my license still carry 12 points? When can I reapply? How do I tell an insurer I have been banned for 12 months? Any tips for reducing insurance with convictions?

Cheers in advance lads

yes,
when your 12 months is up,
you just declare it,
lying will have the desired effect but if caught you are looking at a lifetime of declaring the fact you had insurance cancelled.

After your ban period is up you will not have any points on it.
You will have a TT code to show that you were banned but no points.

You will of course have to declare all convictions leading to the ban and the ban itself to insurance company

I thought it was 6 month ban through totting up? must of done something exceptionally special!. with the advent of no longer requiring the paper part all convictions are online somewhere, the insurers will request a code so they can access your drving licence records they will request:

you will need your driving licence number, National Insurance number and the postcode on your driving licence, so there is no way of being able to not tell them. if you were to commit fraud against a insurance company, nobody would touch you wilth a barch pole for a very very long time.

what you'll show will be a totting up offence code, but as you have had 12 month ban (i always thought it was 6 months) you might have a bit more as it sounds like you did more to piss off "the man" Smile . so what di you do? Smile

Go by whatever you see here:

https://www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence

Declare the number of points shown here. That's what insurers will be able to see if and when they check.
