Axles are pretty soft, twatting it with a hammer is going to ruin the end very quickly. You need to use a piece of soft ally to protect the end of the axle. Putting a tube over the large end and driving the axle into the tube held vertically on the floor will help a lot too. ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'

Heavy duty hammer+block of wood between said items usually works for me. Get a mate (wife will do) to hold the block of wood and give it an almighty wallop. If that doesn't work try a heavy duty punch centered on the mid point of the axle. Tap it, don't whack...
Could deffo be a broken circlip or bearing stopping it sliding out though... ____________________ Honda CG125>Suzuki GT185>Honda CB 250N>Suzuki GSX400>Honda CX500B>Kawasaki GPZ305> Kawasaki GPZ550>Kawasaki GPZ500S+BMW 650GS |
