External cameras are often for reversing, parking and so on.

You don't seem to get soley cameras even on high end cars at the moment.

Judging from your photo it's an Audi R18 that has a mirror too.

Some HGVs have them, and it wold not matter if they were fitted to cars. their all too busy posted on face book to look forward let alone in a mirror or screen to see what around them

Am I right in thinking that at least one mirror is required for MOT?

Would this then count as a mirror? Even though it's not part of the bike?

No, you are not right.

If it was a requirement, I'm pretty confident it wouldn't count as a mirror.

Similarly; you couldn't have a wireless push bike speedo mounted on your wrist rather than on the bike, I'm pretty sure.

I'd settle for a trip counter.

Ohh the fun of doing the mental arithmetic working out when you need to fuel up. I'll stick with a fuel gauge and use visor bug splatt density to work out mileage.

Off the top of my head Range Rovers, S class and 7 (maybe 5) series have them.

Solely no but they've been around for a while, a decade+ on road cars I believe. Cameras on race cars (for the driver) seems to have been a fairly recent innovation.

I tried the Zona and own a Reevu and from my experience they both work just as well but you get the obvious convenience perks with the Reevu (Batteries, no cameras to mount between bikes). The Zona had a clearer view in the demo at least, it was playing back pre-recorded footage

I'm guessing because the wireless lag between the camera and screen is exactly the right amount to make you sick up in your mouth every time you turn your head.

See also: connecting my Drift to my phone and wedging it in the visor gap in my helmet.

Or you can use any wifi enabled action camera mounted backwards on the bike, like SJ4000 and live stream it to your android phone mounted in the £10 waterproof case on the RAM mount on the hadlebars Thumbs Up

At least this is what I plan to test soon Laughing

Per my previous comment about lag, the first thing I tried was to turn on the WiFi on my Drift Stealth, and wedge my phone into the visor slot on my helmet.

It was like being in the Matrix. I mean the 2nd and 3rd ones, a weird surreal nightmare from which you desperately want to awake.

I'd film the experiment, but ironically I'd run out of cameras.

As far as I know, for first-person drone use, it's still analogue if you're looking to use it to fly, rather than just positioning for a camera shot.

Even the tiny bit of latency on decent digital systems makes it troublesome.

I saw a drone racing thing on tv where they had an SD feed going to their headset as HD apparently had too much lag.

Balanced, reasonable review by, of course, Bennetts. tl;dr version - sort of works.

239 dollah tho.
