Hi All,

I just wanted to drop a quick note to say thank you. I set up my SV650 maintenance youtube channel and thanks to a lot of you on here, it is close to reaching 2K subscribers and 200,000 views! It is thanks to you guys watching, subscribing and supporting with helpful comments and tips.

I have a list of videos I still need to make, and will welcome your feedback as they go live.

Please take a look at my new channel opening video and let me know what you think!

I know I should hate on it, but lovely voice, decent content, and my favourite exemplar for why I don't use a clicky-torque wrench.

To be fair, she uses the torque wrench like someone un-accustomed to them.
I'm sure you're already aware, but one should never put their other hand on the head, it defeats the purpose of the tool.
However I have had my clicky wrenches fail to click when I have used them correctly, so it is neither here nor there.

After I saw you recommend it some years back, I bought one of the bar lever torque wrenches for large bolts, decent tool.
I'm curious, do you use one for lower torques? if so have you found it to be accurate?
I don't think I have used mine for anything less than 30nm.

I did initially think "well fair do's, she fixed her mistake" then she said "AJ is a hero". Tut Tut
Even BodyGuard fixed his fuckup. (with lots of advice from BCF)

Shiny bike and nice voice though, makes a change from the usual "MNAAAAAAAR" nasal voice of most Youtubers.

Ah well you see there was more to the story, I did fix it myself, however, I needed some help to scrounge up a replacement bolt for the one that had sheared.

You see, some guys at work had laughed when I had told them what I planning to do that evening, and joked that I would be coming into work the following day in my car after I screwed up the bike. (which by watching the video you saw that I did!!)

Thanks to AJ, he helped me get the replacement bolt and enabled me to roar into work on 2 wheel the following day. I take full credit for taking it apart and sorting my own mess Wink

Ah I interpreted wrong (wouldn't be the first time) did the bolt pushing up against the disc not warp it then?

BTW the non clicky torque wrenches are like this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0001K9T24/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
One of the better purchases recommended on BCF.

Nope, finger tight + quarter to half a turn.

I do have a clicky-wrench which I use very occasionally. The last time I used it on the bolts on my car cam cover, I didn't snap any, but neither did it seal. So I redid them as finger tight plus half a turn, job done.

a mate of mine did the same thing on his cbf600 rear caliper. one of the bolts has a rubber insert that turns with the bolt.. lots of rotations waiting for the wrench to click later and CRACK!.

decent content. i've subbed Thumbs Up

Ahhh nice, good on ya Thumbs Up

Torque wrenches are good tools that I rarely use unless I get the 2 meter out to use for leverage. The idea is to obviously get a consistent accurate load on every single fixing.
Great for beginners but if you have a bit of time actually on the tools you can soon learn what works and feels right. You just need to remember that your ft (finger tight) is not the same as mine or someone elses and your FT (Feckin tight) again will be different.

When I first did a bit of spannering on bikes I was way too heavy handed after spannering in industry. Had to back of quite a bit and apply more care.

Nope, OP actually interacts and seems to have some brain cells, can have a joke at her own expense...

I suspect that, more than "tits and cunt" is the reason it's not a red/black thread

Now you, fazer/aloysious/bodysocket/007/whatever, you're a cunt of an entirely different type.

Also, op's mechanical ability seems to exceed bodyfazer's tenfold.

I'd trust her with my spark plug.

No smut intended.

No, not insinuating.

Given the forum demographics, it's hardly an issue.

All the best.

It doesn't matter in the slightest either way, it's just Fazer being his usual fuckwitted self.

Its something I'd picked up on.

I thought the spark plug reference was obvious, maybe I should have gone with the sprocket again.
