I've just managed to wipe my hard drive and install Windows 7 again finally. However I now need to reinstall my broadband connection to my router.

Its all plugged in, but it's not seeing any networks or router's. What do I need to do next, is it a disc required that came with the router?

Is your ethernet/wifi driver installed?

What's plugged in? Do you have a wired connection to your router, or wireless?

Some screenshots of these would help:

Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network Connections

Device Manager \ Network adapters

cmd -> ipconfig /all

Do you have DHCP enabled on your primary network connection?

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

problem will be either network adapter driver or network configuration settings
very much doubt it will have anything to do with your router or software that came with it (if any)

probably this....

start run > cmd > ipconfig

no adapter, no drivers

if you have an apipa address like 169.x.x.x means it's not finding the dhcp

Thanks bcf techies for all the replys and advice!

I've got it sorted now, I managed to find the Intel disc and that had all the drivers and missing programs or adapters on.

Back in the game with Windows 7, it's so simple and easy to use just how I like it. After 5months without a fully working pc, I'd just like to say a big fuckyou very much to Windows 10 tho!
