Every now and then I get a fault with my instruemnts, I still have idiot lights and backlights, but either the LCDs will go blank and dials will stick in place for a few minutes or the clock will reset to 1:00 and the dials will do their switch-on routine (all the way round and back to zero)

Is there a common fault that causes this or is this checking the loom for a bad wire?

I assume this is a power fault rather than a signal input gone as the time is resetting?

Never mind, fixed it. Instrumentation cable was installed incorrectly and had some damaged insulation and internal corrosion.

It's an arse getting the clocks off so I can lift the dash/fairing inner panel. Anyone have a trick for this?
