Any ideas on where to go for a 1/2 night camping trip in Scotland? I have only been to Edinburgh and Glasgow in the car and train.
And the longest trip I've done on the motorbike is camping in Bolton Abbey.
will be on a Kawasaki Ninja 650

I'd head for Glen Coe or maybe Oban area.
There's a nice but midgey campsite on the old road in Glen Coe, within walking distance of Clachaig Inn.

Depends where you're coming from. The borders around about Moffat is pretty good - A708 past St Mary's Loch and the Dalveen or Menock pass over to the west.

Further up past Glasgow a good route to take is short blast up the motorway past Glasgow and exit towards Callander. From there through Tyndrum, Crianlarich, Glen Coe, Fort William. You can then continue North from there up through Invergarry and camp overnight in Applecross (Bealach Na Ba is a cracking road) or you can head south via Oban, Lochgilphead and Inverary back to Glasgow. I did a variation on this route today with a stop at Arisaig before heading back.

I do all of these regularly on an ER6F. The borders stuff is a bit more technical and there's less traffic. The northern stuff is a bit quicker, smoother and more flowing.

Depending where you're coming from you could do the lot in 2-3 days.
