Short hoon to Anstruther after work via Cupar and Crail. The Street is a naughty little Madam, just begs to be thrashed all the time and makes you ride like a proper dickhead. God, she's good.

'You'll have had your tea'.

We're doing ok with dodging the rain.
Full days and long nights and loving it.
Big Red is enjoying thundering about and so am I.

Well, it was time to bid farewell to the Enfield ..

First up, get it MOT'd, which it duly passed without any problems . Then a quick 20 miles or so ride round the area, and here they are, the last 2 photos of a ride out on the Enfield ..

Unlike other bike trips I didn't take many photos.

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/C_pH-ZgXYAALduS.jpg

Roads - mainly good (got zapped).

Weather - mainly good but horrendous conditions on the way up.
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/C_5musFXYAAN4af.jpg
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DAEVQG2XkAANMib.jpg

Locals - good. Filtering is a breeze when so many use mirrors. White vans are still the quickest vehicle to follow through the Trossachs.

Ale - ale.

Reliability - good apart from an aftermarket voltage warning light that succumbed to the drenching on the way up and briefly made my heart sink until i pulled over and double checked it.

Ale - Aye, I'll 'ave another.

Group dynamics - Mainly ex colliers in their late 60s, most ride like complete twats although we did have an I.A.M chap who helped a couple of new to it guys.

Ale - Fuck it I'm already pissed so another won't make a difference

Group riding - hilarious for the usual reasons..dodgy overtakes..back end slides...(un)intentional wheelies.... getting lost and not informing those who blindly follow...pulling over in unusual and often dangerous places...getting bored and blasting past the rest of them...getting lost...repeat when you find them on whatsapp.

Ale - Where is Dave's brandy bottle?

Health - Most of us have decades of manual labour under our belts so nothing was mentioned as it would show weakness. (me bad arm is fuckin' murdering).

Food - 2 of the lads (ha-ha I called them lads!) could open an expensive restaurant and it was roadside fayre when out n about.

Attractions - I personally wanted to ride-ride-ride so left them to it on a few occasions, but did Falkirk wheel with them.
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/C_9caHeUwAEsXJ_.jpg
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/C__BkP-U0AAE_M5.jpg

Dropped in at chickenstrip's place for a natter and brew (lovingly prepared cheese n pickle butty that sustained me whilst I tonked-it back home).

Ale - spoils of war.

End of the drive...

Tinkered for the morning... got myself all ready to go for the afternoon, literally got to the end of the drive and the heavens opened.

Sulked for the rest of the day till work in the evening. Rolling Eyes

Just about 160 miles with some friends down to Derbyshire with dinner at the Yondermann cafe, awesome day out but my friends were complaining that they couldn't go too fast because of the Police presence and unfamiliar roads, also the Harley rideout that we encountered, for some turns they took the whole road even forcing oncoming cars to stop Rolling Eyes

Only took one pic at the cafe... Nice S1 RS Turbo Thumbs Up

Went to the watercress festival. Yup, it was as fun as it sounds. Neutral Kept the Mrs happy though.

Went home via Ropley Train station / watercress line, saw a few steam engines... Average day was had, but with some nice riding in between.

Didn't drop it today either, so that's a win.

Sorry, no pictures as the battery was low on my phone when I got out today.
However I took the Hyosung out today.
I went to Mistley and had a cup of tea at the burger van.

The Hyosung is so much of a better bike than my Chinese pos.
It's just so much easier and quicker to ride than the Chinese pos.

Mistley = near Lawford , just up the road from Cattawade.

Hi

No pics from me on this either, was the other side of Bridgnorth on Friday on the RX3, was relaxing in the sun, then the weather changed .. Gave up hoping the rain would pass, and in the end, rode back to wolves. My boots finally dried out after being hung on the line all day yesterday.

It was some of the worst rain I've ridden in.

On Friday, went with Arry to Norfolk. 780 miles all in.

Mega roads included: A1065, A148, A134, A1075, A1088, A1062, A149, A143

Started off a bit wet

https://i1329.photobucket.com/albums/w559/pigeon35/170519%20-%20Arry/20170519_183541.resized_zpsbskmnwaf.jpg

The welcoming committee were there to greet us
https://i1329.photobucket.com/albums/w559/pigeon35/170519%20-%20Arry/20170519_191127.resized_zpsosw2ky9t.jpg

A few beers in the evening and the next day was splendid, as were all up to today (Monday).

https://i1329.photobucket.com/albums/w559/pigeon35/170519%20-%20Arry/20170520_085151.resized_zps5rgbt9b4.jpg

Saturday was spent doing a giant figure of 8 around north Norfolk and Thetford. Some fantastic roads, with minimal traffic compared to peak season. Still plenty of Police who seemed to take an interest in us.

https://i1329.photobucket.com/albums/w559/pigeon35/170519%20-%20Arry/20170520_164808.resized_zpsb74f7ves.jpg

More beers in the evening and a visit to the local beach next morning in search for coffee.

https://i1329.photobucket.com/albums/w559/pigeon35/170519%20-%20Arry/20170521_093942.resized_zpsib6h2qiu.jpg

Off to Cromer and then to Norfolk's Motorcycle Museum. Proper cool little place, nice guy working there. Lots of interesting bikes.

Chased back across the coastal road, showing the local whipper-snappers how its done.

https://i1329.photobucket.com/albums/w559/pigeon35/170519%20-%20Arry/20170521_191305.resized_zpsyu5oiaxz.jpg

More beers that evening.....and a mahoosive slice of cake due to (the second time) missing the kitchen serving time for dinner.

Then off to Muckleburgh Military Collection

https://i1329.photobucket.com/albums/w559/pigeon35/170519%20-%20Arry/20170522_100849.resized_zpsm1mofy06.jpg

Then struck camp and fired ourselves at the scenery once more, this time for home. But not before Arry showed me some of Essex's finest roads, which were fantastic.

https://i1329.photobucket.com/albums/w559/pigeon35/170519%20-%20Arry/20170522_123322.resized_zpszrvv4ia2.jpg

Great company, roads, weather, beer and food. Good times!

Thanks Arry Thumbs Up

Shit, for a moment there I thought you meant 780 miles in one day! Now, that would have been worth some Karma Laughing

Tip: next time you want coffee, try a coffee shop. Sand and pebbles don't make a very good substitute, I find Razz

Yeah, 4 days, so not crazy mileage but I was proper knackered. Diet, sleep and beer might have played a part in this Smile

Turns out, neither does a coffee shop Laughing

I thought it was ok but definitely a bit odd tasting, reminded me of Bovril. Arry took quite a while to finish his Smile

Just out and about locally today randomly going down roads that I haven't gone down before. Lots of nice roads and nice scenes to be seen.

Add to that plenty of stops for bird watching, turned out to be a nice day!

Some of the SE headed for the Peaks on Friday. We adopted a SW member for the trip in the form of Petalbriefs. Who assimilated into the group very quickly, adopting the default position of taking different exits on roundabouts and melting reg/reg wiring with the A-Team getting it sorted in double quick time (we have previous).

https://i1329.photobucket.com/albums/w559/pigeon35/170527%20-%20Hartington/20170527_123544.resized_zpswyd8a24h.jpg

Hartington Hall was nice enough and the staff were very friendly.

https://i1329.photobucket.com/albums/w559/pigeon35/170527%20-%20Hartington/20170529_092757.resized_zps7d9oqanm.jpg

By chance there was a beer festival in the village, so we cracked on from 5pm (rude not to). Enjoying varied cask ales, BBQ and live music.

https://i1329.photobucket.com/albums/w559/pigeon35/170527%20-%20Hartington/20170527_170602.resized_zpsily9rzyc.jpg

A giggle of an evening, which coupled with zero sleep, resulted in a VERY shaky start to the next day. Fortunately a full-english helped, followed by some focussing miles over the peaks with 10 meter visibility. It was a bit grim. There was brief talk of a mutiny.

Stopped at the Wye Bridge House in Buxton for caffeine and sugar, where GroovyLee got his knee and shoulder down Thumbs Up

The mizzle started to clear and we fired ourselves into the living room of a young Mr HT Cool
Who's warm smile was enough to re-heat us, along with some excellent fresh coffee Thumbs Up
After admiring his incredible collection of (without going into too much detail, internet innit) music, lovely garden (Julie's work), his MV (big red was hidden) and playing with his adorable dogs. We proceeded on our mission to hoon, making sure to piss off his neighbours before we left in a booming, tooting, buzzing, howling gaggle of vtwin, IL3 and IL4's.......HT's neighbours are probably used to it.

https://i1329.photobucket.com/albums/w559/pigeon35/170527%20-%20Hartington/20170528_124410.resized_zpsaybolhy0.jpg

They say an army marches on its stomach. We didn't do much marching, but had a fantastic pub lunch anyway and nearly recruited another member into the squad as the waiter saw the error of his ways and wanted to join our cool gang......albeit, very briefly.

https://i1329.photobucket.com/albums/w559/pigeon35/170527%20-%20Hartington/20170528_135938.resized_zpsqi4s7bk5.jpg

The scenery was starting to reveal itself and it just got better and better.

https://i1329.photobucket.com/albums/w559/pigeon35/170527%20-%20Hartington/20170528_151816.resized_zpsttzvwv0u.jpg

We went over to Blue John Cavern and sat below Mam Tor, basking in sun and success.
Haroman666 was an excellent tour guide with many (two) Wikipedia facts to feed the mind.

https://i1329.photobucket.com/albums/w559/pigeon35/170527%20-%20Hartington/20170528_161807.resized_zpsmh92dbhp.jpg

Haroman666's booming VTR had clearly been down this road before

https://i1329.photobucket.com/albums/w559/pigeon35/170527%20-%20Hartington/20170528_162513.resized_zpshngds41o.jpg

Onwards to do Snake Pass and end up at Ladybower reservoir

https://i1329.photobucket.com/albums/w559/pigeon35/170527%20-%20Hartington/20170528_173126.resized_zps9hs1iyr4.jpg

Followed by a nice pub dinner and a few more drinks.....which continued on at the hostel bar until the shutters were pulled down on a mostly excellent weekend.

https://i1329.photobucket.com/albums/w559/pigeon35/170527%20-%20Hartington/20170528_213115.resized_zpsjhnnxfkq.jpg

The peaks were stunning and I'm definitely going back Thumbs Up

As ever, the company was top notch, plenty of giggles and obscenities, with many surprises, new places and smiley faces.

Thanks to everyone, as ever, lovin' your work Cool
