Half to 3/4 throttle is usually to do with the throttle needle and slide cutaway.
The fact it's running well on wide open throttle suggests it's probably not electrical and that your jetting is correct.
That notwithstanding, first thing I always do with a 2t that's not running properly is change the sparkplug.
It would be very easy to check the condition of the throttle needle and make sure it's correctly seated with the circlip in the corrct notch. In fact, you wouldn't even need any tools.
Although, for £25, wemoto stock a carb service kit which has a full set of brand shiny new brasswork (all the jetting and needles) as well as a needle valve and seals. This would return it all to pretty much how it came out of the factory and saves a lot of fucking about.
Can't remember if the S2 is points of CDI. If points, might be worth checking the ignition timing too, Although if it's running well on WOT, you wont be too far off so mark the position before fiddling with the points.
If you have the carb off, check the condition of the reed valve petals.
It's also not wrong to de-coke the exhaust baffle if it hasn't been done recently. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”
