Hi all,

Will make it quick - have been riding my H100 a lot recently and enjoying the sun. Bike runs lovely all the time however, at speed (anything from 45-60mph), and only in 5th gear:

Small throttle - fine.
Half throttle - doesn't bog, but feels hesitant - goes quite quiet, and actually feels like I've applied the brake a little.
Full throttle - picks up and goes fine.

Rolling from full throttle to no throttle and vice versa produce the same effect. Loss of power but no bogging. Does not happen at any other speed or gear.

I know it's probably another rookie carb setup post but I'd rather get some experienced thoughts before I start messing and bugger up an otherwise fantastic little runaround.

Half to 3/4 throttle is usually to do with the throttle needle and slide cutaway.

The fact it's running well on wide open throttle suggests it's probably not electrical and that your jetting is correct.

That notwithstanding, first thing I always do with a 2t that's not running properly is change the sparkplug.

It would be very easy to check the condition of the throttle needle and make sure it's correctly seated with the circlip in the corrct notch. In fact, you wouldn't even need any tools.

Although, for £25, wemoto stock a carb service kit which has a full set of brand shiny new brasswork (all the jetting and needles) as well as a needle valve and seals. This would return it all to pretty much how it came out of the factory and saves a lot of fucking about.

Can't remember if the S2 is points of CDI. If points, might be worth checking the ignition timing too, Although if it's running well on WOT, you wont be too far off so mark the position before fiddling with the points.

If you have the carb off, check the condition of the reed valve petals.

It's also not wrong to de-coke the exhaust baffle if it hasn't been done recently.

Going to take her out for a run tomorrow and I'll do a plug chop, check the reeds, carb and clip and knock one off at a time and see what happens and post results.

Cheers
