When I potatod my BMW in Germany and needed to get it to a garage to borrow some tools, my mate pushed my with his Hornet 600 - his right foot out against my left rear footpeg. Can confirm this worked for the 2-3 miles needed.

Legality wise, i'd imagine die Polizei wouldn't have approved, in the UK it's probably considered riding not in proper control of the vehicle though.

FTFW.

Just out of interest though, how did this work practically? I can see it being fine on a flat straight road or downhill, but the moment you have to turn / go up-hill, I'm impressed one or the other or both of you didn't end up decorating the road!

Towing is fine. I once broke down in the New Forest, 30 miles from home and a friend towed me home with wire we cut from a nearby fence.

Hilarious* for me, on my '77 CG125, being towed flat out by a lunatic on a 350LC.

*Terrifying.

I'm pretty sure pushing would fall foul of the law.
