Evening,

Ive tried searching but cant find anything to my specific problem. Ive got a CBR 600 F3 that stalls if I don't either keep a small amount of revs on or ride it. If I pull up at a junction for example it stalls. This problem has only come about today after fitting a new CCT! Any one have any ideas.

Thanks

Did you remove or knock anything to get to the CCT?
Could a vacuum hose be loose or split?

It was done by a mechanic! Once it's cooled down it's ok. It seems to be when the temp gets up that the revs drop!

If it was working fine before you had the CCT fitted then I would look for something that has been moved during the installation of the CCT. Could be something like a pinched hose.

Or take it back to the garage and let the mechanic check it over.

From memory I'm pretty sure I changed my F3's CCT without taking the tank/airbox/carbs etc off so if it was done in this way it would narrow the options down vastly.

Is the new CCT manual or automatic?

Go back to the mechanic who did the job?

Just the side panels removed and tank etc remained in place. They did have to unscrew something that was in the way so they could tighten the CCT up. It's a Manuel one. Cheers

Now now..
google is your friend!

Gowan then. Twiddle this bit with the bike running at idle to adjust the Idle speed (not the big round fuel tap but the little 'twiddler'). Very easy to do.

It's just under the fuel tap on the left side on the bike. I know on the F2 there's an opening in the panel to the lower right of the fuel tap, F3 might be the same. Twist it and give the throttle a little twist, when it settles down you'll see how it adjusts your idle speed.

Not sure what the idle speed is for the F3, but 1300-1500rpm should be about right.

Cheers found it. Seems to be a spring loaded one that doesn't have a great deal of play!

Right finally managed to up the revs a bit to stop the stalling. Only a temp fix. I think the cards will need a good clean and setting up. Its smelling really rich! Another issue has reared its ugly head today. battery seemed to die after being stood for 10 mins. Had to ask some kind bloke in a van for some jump leads. Worked a treat and fired instantly. Its either me leaving the lights on when I tur the bike off (tit) or battery/starter issue. Gotta love an old bike.

I would highly recommend you try bump staring the bike.

They are pretty easy to bump (battery was pooped on my F3 when I left it all winter as a track bike, never bothered chaining it, just bumped a few times and it worked well enough for the track heh).

It's easy enough to do on the older bikes and can easily get you out of a fix! Not sure how well it works on modern fuel injected bikes?

Tried to bump start it but nothing at all. As soon as we put cables on it fired straight up. I'll keep an eye on it but should be ok I reckon.
