The wildbad mob who toured America last year all rated their joe rocket airflow jackets and they're cheaper than Rukkas or Dainese summer jackets.

I'm about the same size (but am fat Embarassed )

the knox zephyr summer jacket just about fits in a 3xl, seems decent quality and around £200

worth going and trying it out

On hot days I wear my Alpinestars Bionic jacket and a normal hoody over it. I could just wear the Bionic jacket for extra cooling but it's like a mesh material and I don't want to look like Freddie Mercury on a bike! Great protection and as cool as they come.

When it's really hot then a 'Mesh' jacket has to be the best option but you'll need to visit a bike gear shop to inspect them as some do seem a bit 'iffy' quality-wise.
Also you'll need to try it for size as well.
I'm happy with my air something frank thomas jacket but I doubt it'll see this summer out, which will be it's 4th... I think... maybe it's 5th...(I wear it whenever possible).
If you leave the liner in then it's not especially good for the heat but without it you'll need to carry a waterproof in case of a thunderstorm (unless you like getting wet Laughing )

I know A* do a good one at a reasonable price, so that may be my next one.

I think it was Air Nova or Nova Air but it only says 'Frank Thomas Air Sports' on it, so I can't be certain.
They probably replaced this one since then...
And yes, it certainly makes hot weather riding so much more pleasant, especially in town where normally at lights/junctions etc it feels like a sauna in a regular bike jacket.

I can't find the specific model, but my Richa jacket has air vents on the sleeves (wrist and bicep), breast and shoulder blades.
Take the inside padding out and it's really light, but still armoured. I rode it today and I was absolutely fine.
It's a 2XL which is too big for me now as I've lost 3.5st this year, but I was very close to 19st when I bought it.

I saw at least 4 people riding +600cc sports bikes today wearing shorts and tshirts. I used to be brave/stupid enough to do that when I was younger... not anymore

I must take my own advice....
Thanks to the BBC weather forecast I got caught in a thunderstorm on Saturday morning with the liner out and no waterproofs.
Wet through.... When I stopped at a café I used their Loo hand dryer/blower to dry my gloves etc and spent the next X hours wearing wet underwear... (nothing to do with my bladder control!). Laughing

Clear the room, I'm an expert at this.

How big?
How tall?

First off, you need your inside leg measurement ...
Then ...

Well, let's do that first, shall we, and see how things go from there Shifty

Definately an expert on how a Jacket fits.
I'd never have considered the importance of my inside leg measurements for a jacket but now I'll always remember to give that info first when ordering... Cool

sounds like the best option may be one of those bionic jacket things with a light hoody over the top.

If you mean an amour undersuit/skeleton thing (like the MX boys wear), then remember they aren't very abrasion resistant, so a Kevlar hoodie is the best option, but personally I'd still go with a Mesh jacket...
