On my YBR, since I did the spark plug, air filter & oil change, I've noticed a lag on throttle. This happens sporadically when I'm throttling on idle to test it. Sometimes it's literally 2-3 seconds of almost choking with no power then it responds.

Could the air filter be related to this? Because I noticed the aftermarket one was significantly different to the one already fitted.

Original looked like this;

Aftermarket

If not, any other thoughts?

when fitted to the bike, what is behind the hole (not the mesh)?

The after market looks more restrictive?

refit the old air filter an see if it still happens, if it does. It's deffo the new filter

Behind the hole is just a blank space (confined) that's why I wasn't sure. Being silly I chucked away the old filter, but have ordered a new one since it was only £6-7 and will see if it makes a difference
