Some turd nearly hit me head on on while i was on my bike this morning....

The tosser was in the wrong lane and tried to vier across my lane at a junction...

He was in the turn right lane on his side I was in the turn right lane on my side. The straight ahead lanes were red lighted... He wanted to go straight ahead went into the wrong lane effectively jumping the red light and nearly went right into me.

Didnt even stop to say sorry or even acknowledge he did anything wrong...

i accept some people make mistakes. At least apologies for them... grrrrrrrrr

Something even more stupid happend to my a week ago. I was driving my car on a dual carridge way at about 85km/h. I was about to get out of the city where the dual carridge way turns into a highway (130km/h limit), so as everyone, I just had there about 130km/h. Now the fun part, there was a car in the side lane (not sure what you call it, I mean the lane that's not meant to be used for driving, only for emergency stops). Anyway, the car was stationary there, I was getting close to it at high speed and then, the driver turned the left turn signal on and made sharp 180° turn, going the wrong way on the dual carridge way from where I just came. So, very hard on brakes, missed him be just a few meters. The driver was some old guy, looked rather alright with going the wrong way on a 80km/h dual carridge way. I guess, lucky him it wasn't the rush hour. Neutral

EDIT: We, continentals, drive on the right hand side, so to make the story appealing to you, the car in question was stationary in the lane on the left, and the driver turned the right turn signal on.

Had a f*ckin spack tard shlaaaggggg pull out on me at the last minute on a country lane this morning, nothing behind me either FFS...

I was going as fast as every fecking car has does down that road (60) so she should have a bloody clue how much time she has to get out.

So whilst I'm bottoming out the bloody front on the R1 she pops her hand up and makes a silly face as she pulls out as if it's just a minor inconvenience that I'm now braking harder than anyone really wants to on a litre sports bike on a country lane and pip pip toodles off on her merry fucking demented berry way a whole 4 seconds sooner than if she had to common courtesy to wait for me to get past...

Fuck you cunty Mc bitch pants. Next time I'll give it some welly and bury the bike where your fecking sitting! Twisted Evil

Cuz I'll never actually do that but seriously. Am considering a camera as it seems they will let any careless halfwit pilot a ton of metal these days...

I feel like there is a neuro linguistic programming aspect to all of this. What do I mean by that? Well, so many people on this forum write things like "Had my first crash" or "just had my first head on crash" as if it's a common occurrence.

Does that tell us that subconsciously people are expecting to crash? Not only that, they are subconsciously expecting to have a head on crash?

heh maybe Very Happy, im not going out there to look to crash but being a cyclist in london has taught me is its always a matter of when not if...

I just hope that 'when' it happens its not too serious...

Todays wasnt at any speed or anything, might have made a dent on his bonnet.... My bike would have been a bit damaged.
Oh and i had a few minutes....

diagram :p

That's still alright OP, it's the high speed close calls that make you question the hobby of your choice. Thumbs Up

The stuff like, you having fun out on your bike, making a nice corner and there is a car in your lane rushing towards you, so the driver can overtake the last car before the corner starts. The stuff like you on the highway, even when doing the speed limit, and a car cuts you off or even worse starts emergency braking. And so on.

Keep it safe OP, and let the good times roll*.
