Top notch stuff there. Thumbs Up That looks like some pretty rapid riding too, though I imagine it's on a litre bike? Very Happy

Very cool. Thumbs Up

Had spectacular bad luck with onboard stuff last year, foggy footage, too much faffing around fixing other stuff, general fuckwittery... must get it all sorted and do more this year.

Cannon MV500i with RF Concepts Helmet Camera. Didn't bother with the mounts you get with the helmet cam. Just used good old gaffa tape.

Edited in Adobe Premier Pro and encoded with TMPGEnc Plus Version 2.5.

He's probably doing it directly from Adobe Premier.

Have you got firewire ports? You should use that over USB. Also, if you're running Windows XP then it comes with MovieMaker which is a reasonable editing tool considering it's free. You can use that to import the video too.

Yep. As above with Premier and firewire. The camera has to have DV out. I doubt the Digital 8 cam will.

It's okay since it's free aye, and good for those quick two minute videos you want to extract from the tape.

However, ask the right people and you can get pinnacle 9 video editing suite free too Wink No idea if its any good tbh..haven't had anything recorded to use with it yet....Sad

You really want firewire DV cable to transfer to PC, that's the only way you can really transfer into Premier etc.

Premier sucks anyway, Sony Vegas 5 is 100000 times better and has never crashed on me, unlike Premier shite.

Try making videos with lots of clips, few mins long, stressing the software, premier is buggy as hell and no where near as useable as vegas... the person who put me on to vegas runs a film company (very good one too) so if you don't want to take my word for it, take his and just try it for yourself Rolling Eyes

Plus vegas

Arrow You don't need to render it just to see transitions and stuff, it shows them instantly
Arrow The compression tools for exporting are 100 times better
Arrow Fades and effects are easier to use and better/more (if you use them anyway, I don't)
Arrow File size of saved projects are smaller
Arrow Doesn't create 100s of folders everywhere Laughing
Arrow Titles and text 100 times easier and you dont need to save all titles individually

etc

I was just trying to be helpful by reccomending Vegas Evil or Very Mad It will seriously improve your editing + time taken + effort.

Only trying to help as it took a few weeks for mate to convince me to even try vegas let alone reccomend it to others.

Have done so with no problems. Dont forget its also down to your system. Premier is a professional tool (BBC etc) and isn't really meant for home PC use. I use it as it was given to me by a friend and it suited my needs. Like all software everybody has there preferences......

I'm only winding you up Yams Razz My only real complaint with Adobe is the size of the file output. I'll hunt down a copy of the Sony one and have a look Thumbs Up
