Take a look at this picture and tell me what you think? Its the only junction I have ever come across where the signage for the junction is actually after it.

Interesting question. On a quick read of TSRGD 2016:

https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2016/362/schedule/3/made

(1) The sign must only be placed to indicate the effect of an Act, order, regulation, bylaw, resolution or notice which prohibits or restricts the use of the road by traffic. [is it?]

(2) When the sign is placed to indicate the point at which a restriction, requirement or prohibition begins or ends, it must be placed as near as practicable to that point.

We do have an actual sign-wallah on here though, I'm sure there will be more layers of bureaucracy involved.

Three signs where one would do - par for the course these days.

I got done turning right at a no right turn, when I went back to find the signs they were about 50 yards from the end of the road Confused

When I went back about a month later they had been moved up to the end of the street, you know where you could actually see them when turning.

Refers to the camera-right-hand-side of the side road, where Blurry Bloke is striding.

If you're approaching the camera, you can turn left into the side road. It's not a one-way street.

Approaching as per the camera:

Approaching towards the camera (note the lack of any prohibition on turning left):
https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@51.5705912,-0.195229,3a,75y,347.62h,71.66t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1slLtYUKqkpuKjGEfAUa6Fug!2e0!7i13312!8i6656!6m1!1e1

Emerging from the side street:

See, from that angle, it looks like it might be a bit difficult to turn left into, so maybe a restriction from turning would make sense at that position - but seemingly not from the other side (where the original picture is taken from)

Only thing I can think is that perhaps its just to prevent larger vehicles from getting stuck or something? It does look like a bit of a funky junction, at best.

Those two no-right-turn signs seem pointlessly placed, Sickers. I would have thought a better place (if they are going to put a no-right-turn sign there) would have been that little island where that little yellow no-entry sign is placed for the other bit (blurry bloke walking, as pointed out).

An update

Barnet refused the informal appeal so it was refered to PATAs. 2 weeks before the PATAs hearing I assume shortly after Barnet received the paperwork Barnet backed down.

In the original refused appeal Barnet stated that an offence is commited as soon as a vehicle passes the prohibited turn signs and commits the prohibited action. The appeal of course referred to this statement pointing out that the signs were never passed as they were after the junction.

Thanks go to Yen for advice in this.

Splendid. I wonder if they'll bother to change the signage, or just continue to mug people who roll over without challenging it.

(Rhetorical question is rhetorical).

Of course they won't.
If they did they would lose and be in a position where they had to do a lot of refunds.
