Try doing a paint diagram with your left hand when you're right handed, its impossible.

On my way to work this morning on my F800ST and lost the front on a bend conveniently covered with mud from a burst water main that was repaired the previous evening.

Broke the gear lever, left front indicator and rashed up the left hand fairing.

Can you prove that the crash was as fault of debris on the road?
Can you also prove who left the road in that state?

Borg will pop over in a minute as his legal advice spidey senses will be tingling.

I think it's this specific segment that you can use:

It's civil, I hae nae clue.

At a wild stab, I'd go after the water company rather than the council, as the former caused the problem and the latter are only responsible for the road surface itself.

No need for a discussion and the inevitable denial, just invoice them right off the bat and take it from there.

If they didn't put up warning signs, assert that they should have done so.

If they did put up warning signs, assert that was an admission that they should have cleaned the road. Wink

Even if it were spent on roads, it would be spend on the road surface, not on cleaning whatever happens to be on top of it.

10 pages and we are only upto 16? Laughing

Today I did do drop bike. Dual carriageway. Much lane splitting done, great progress made. Hgv in left lane, me overtaking a van in the right. Approaching a red, him being at the front and me expecting lights to change, making progress with the intention of getting good use out of my brakes.

Poor obs and I tried to stop on road debris, a car mirror glass. Almost saved her, was a 1mph drop, with the slow motion "noooo oooooooooooooo".

Damage is almost nil. Lost an indicator, minor scuffs.

Bummer, sorry to hear. Scuffs going to buff out, or going to leave them where for added character?

How the hell did you crash on that? That is just a normal road on most journeys I take.

First crash yesterday. It was bloody stupid of me.

Going down my road, coming up to junction. Car in front stopped turning left. I'm turning left as well. Car a head moves off. I look right and its still clear for me. As I turn my head left I notice the car a head has stopped because of a police car on blues.

Grab the front brake and I just go down. No more than 10mph. My left side aches, but no marks on me. I'm amazed that I managed to lift the bike back up by myself as well!

Damage to bike...

NSF indicator has popped out of the fairing. Still works. Gear lever has snapped off. Bar end bent and clutch lever bent, plus a few marks on the fairing/engine case. Could be worse.

Sorry to hear, not many things more frustrating than that! What bike is it? Any pictures?
