(One day? Why bother. Amsterdam? Go by public transport, it's not a biking destination. Does your bike need adjusting for riding on the right? Yes, move the ash tray to the other side. HTH.)

Why not go and look at some of the WW2 stuff on Frances coast? There's a new bunker exhibition just opened too. I'd love to do that myself. You won't have to stray too far either.
France has some dumb laws such as needing to carry a breath test on you and needing reflective stickers of a certain size on your helmet. It's well explained on the interwebs so give it a Google. ____________________ I want your clothes, your boots and your motorcycle.

The breathalyser thing is on hold as far as I'm aware. I haven't used the reflective helmet stickers, but I did carry some with me. Didn't get stopped for anything, maybe it's one of those things they'll throw in if they do you for something else. Only other thing I carried was a hi-viz vest (not worn), which you must wear if you break down at the roadside. I didn't even make any adjustments to my headlamp beam, but wasn't riding after dark. Got a Euro/GB sticker on the no. plate, and that's it. ____________________ Chickenystripgeezer's Biking Life (Latest update 19/10/18) Belgium, France, Italy, Austria tour 2016 Picos de Europa, Pyrenees and French Alps tour 2017 Scotland Trip 1, now with BONUS FEATURE edit, 5/10/19, on page 2 Scotland Trip 2 Luxembourg, Black Forest, Switzerland, Vosges Trip 2017

You'd do much better to not take your bike on the ferry and then just take the train from Hoek van Holland to Amsterdam.
The roads there are dull and wherever you park your bike in Amsterdam, you'll be worrying if a British group of 'lads on tour' have been messing around with it.
Cycled from Hoek van Holland to Rotterdam but got quite lost. |
