550 white smoke

hey guys
I've been working on this Kawasaki gt 550 for ages now. Its had new gaskets and piston rings in cylinder 4. its got good compression all round now but when i start it there's alot of white smoke.
What could that be ?

How much white smoke? clouds of it that remain constant, or a white/grey haze?

If it the latter after work like that it will be oil burning off from reassemble.

I'd take it for a ride, let it get up to normal running temperature, if its still smoking white after that i'd suspect valve guide seals or leaking head gasket - inspect the plugs and look for oil on them.

I read youve fitted a new head gasket - what torque did you tighten down the head with?

Have you re- torqued them?

Yes, what Mentalcycle says. If you did everything right, minor oil leak is expected for the first initial miles.

The head gasket is fine and head is toqued. Theres a fair bit of smoke but i only left it running for a minute or two. I guess ill ride it a bit
