I'm thinking about a wee over night trip to the north of England. Does anyone have good suggestions for a campsite either in the Lake District, or Durham.

Needs to have a pub within walking distance that serves food.

This is my favourite for Central Lakes

Can be very busy and a bit noisy though.
Both pubs mentioned are good for food.

Or maybe this one a bit cheaper close by

Conder Farm in Dent is very basic but very cheap and to my mind a wee gem of a campsite in the Cumbrian Dales. Dent has two cracking pubs.

It's NOT in the lake district meaning you will be able to find a pitch, somewhere to sit in the bar and will be fed without requiring a second mortgage.

https://conistonhallcampsite.wordpress.com/

Here for the lakes, £9 per night plus £1.50 for a bike, not exactly the quietest site (can be quite lively) but definitely good for scenery and relatively close to the town.

Durham area....errr I just wild camp usually, been local means I know where to get away with it, usually a group of us just outside Stanhope, but I understand Highside Farm near Eggleston is quite well regarded Thumbs Up

Seen one in Eskdale that I quite fancy. I'll get a link when I'm on the laptop, see if anyone has tried it.
