So, my old man left his YBR custom to sit and rot in the rain for about 18 months, while it runs just about, it looks a bit of a mess.

After the nonsense with my tracer brakes etc, we decided to strip, clean / restore / fix the YBR up. Even more importantly, we will be using it as an ideal way to learn as we go. Its a cheapish and easy to access bike, so we thought an good bike to lean on. We are working from the front and working out way back.

So far we have:
Arrow Stripped all of the front down.
Arrow restored front wheel
Arrow replaced the broken ignition barrel.
Arrow fixed the ignition button
Arrow tidied up the mess that the last owned left the wiring behing the light.
Arrow tidied up the large amount of rust in places.

Had so much fun so far, been a good laugh and have learnt a lot. I am certainly feeling more confident with it all.

Next on the list:
Arrow Completely overhauled the front brake as it was completely seized.
Thumbs Up

God those things are hilariously simple to work on.

Top tip; take particular care of the exhaust and downpipe on the Custom. They have a weak area on the underside at the weld point, it'll rust through in no time. Replacement is arse clenching expensive (more than the bike is worth in fact) and hard to find. Standard exhausts from the regular YBR won't fit it without some welding mods to hangars etc.

Indeed, that's what we figured and thought that it would be an idea place to start. I mean, my Dad is very good in terms of handiness, and very good with cars, so has a very good basic idea of hows things work etc. So when working things out, he has a good mind for it. I am hoping to soak a lot of the info up as I go along!

Thank you, certainly worth noting!
