It's near constantly in the mid-30s here in summer and the humidity is chronic, sometimes reaching 90%. China has three cities which are classed as "the furnaces of China". I'm in a city which is often considered to be the fourth furnace. To be honest, 'furnace' is the wrong word because it's not the raw heat that gets you here, it's the humidity which means your body's sweat has no effect as it can't evaporate.

To deal with it, I'm a cheapskate so I try to avoid using AC all the time, plus I agree with Sid when he says it's best to let your body acclimatise naturally. Most nights I point a large fan at myself and sleep without any kind of cover at all. I've just moved to a new place and wasn't able to take my fan over yet, so the situation is dire. New room has no AC unit either. Currently I'm sleeping in a starfish position on my back so I can expose as much skin as possible to allow for radiating heat away. Doesn't help much though as I still tend to wake up drenched in sweat.
