Any speculation as to why some PB photo's have disappeared and others haven't?
From what I can see all mine appear, in my show and tell thread, I can see other peoples stuff linked from PB, yet others have gone.

Mine is still working for now.

I paid for my PB storage which included unlimited bandwidth (subject to fair use) so I'm working on the assumption that they can't legally limit that due to it being an existing contract. I presume gouginess will happen when it comes up for renewal.

And I presume their renewal communication will be along the lines of "Nice image collection you've got here. It'd be a shame if anything... happened... to it."

Yeah they're still there for now in most circumstances it seems. Perhaps they've gone after the people that have far more storage than others in the first instance.

I stopped using it a while back due to the advertising blocking functionality. It was so irritating to use, especially on mobile site, and I refused to download an app to upload pictures. Changed to Flickr for now.

Lucky JPEGs don't support animation, innit.

I suppose you'd have to define animation too. At what point is something animated?

I suppose a strict definition is a fps rate greater than persistance of vision (so what, >10fps?).

So. How frequently does an avatar have to change to be animated? I had one a while back that could conceivably be called animated even if not in the strict definition. It only had a very subtle 5x5 pixel frame change for 1/4 of a second every 8 seconds. It had also been up for nearly 10 years.

I tend to go with if it looks like it's moving or flashing to me, then I call it animated and delete it. There are a couple of forum members who have had very subtly animated avatars since before there was a rule on them.

I take it you never went on visordown as-was which allowed both animated avatars and animated banner sigs.

Found this:

Still need to mince around with hardware, IP addresses, fair use policy, dire upload speeds, excessive beer consumption during setup etc etc
