Being unclear about payment seems like a false enterprise to me.
So they send you a kit, and realise last minute they want money, surely 99% of people would just give up on the idea?
If they really had a vested interest in a DNA test and are paying anyway, they would go to a trusted professional.

Plod will use it to lazily link you to a crime scene that you may have coincidentally been at.

Public sector will use it to scan for sequences that suggest you're susceptible to cancer, a heart-disease risk, a shoe-in for other genetic conditions and use that info to load the cost of (or complete deny access to) health insurance, when the NHS is sold off over the next few years.

So is it that you can actually decide which DNA you want them to find?

Is that for people who don't believe their mothers are really their own?

I suppose some people must have such freaky relatives that they must look around the table at Christmas and weddings and wonder if they are really related.
