Alright BCF,
3 weeks ago I picked up what i thought was a nice low mileage good example of a GSXR 750 2005, ran perfectly for the first few weeks, then out on a ride just died, the bike will start up in neutral and rev all the way but when you put it gear and try and ride the revs drop and it will more or less die (but can be restarted straight away).
There is no FI error codes displaying (or even the FI warning)
Took it to a local mechanic who usually works on mostly older carbed bikes who looked at all the usual suspects, side stand switch, clutch switch both shorted with no cure, fuel lines checked for kinks (there was a bit of a kink but upon straightening the problem is the same).
They way he explained it to me he reckons the problem is as the throttle transfers from the low rpm injectors to the high ones is where the problem is. It does die when you try to give it revs in gear but will rev roughly.
At a bit of a loss, have read various GSXR specific things online about a secondary throttle actuator.
I'm about ready to give up with nice bikes and just stick with the Cub90...
Any ideas? ____________________ [Current Bikes - GSXR-750 K5 & C90-97 ] [Previous Bikes: Runner 125, YBR 125, GS500, Bandit 600, Hornet 600, ZX6R-99, C90-99, R1-99, XT600E-04, GSXR-750 K4, CRF250L '16] |

Fuel filter IMO or collapsing fuel line perhaps (I think they are a 4 year service interval for changing fuel lines, the 'busa is for sure). There's very little demand for fuel in neutral but as soon as you put a load on it the fuel demand goes up a lot.
If you can pop the fuel line off see how much it's pumping out into a pot.
If it has one of those quick-release fuel connectors it might be that too. ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'
