I heard someone on Radio 4 (no idea if Government stooge or not) claiming it would be a "trusted 3rd party" holding the info, as per gambling.
This did not reassure me in the slightest.

Looks to be shaping up to be another law that will affect only terminally technically inept whilst simultaneously generating vast amounts of busywork and further eroding privacy and security.

Looking forward to the much vaunted banning of encryption! Thumbs Up

And yet it's almost exclusively the choice of those considered intellectually capable enough to run the country.

Delicious.

Banning encryption, don't be stupid, they need that so they can say doing stuff online is safe. All they want is a backdoor into it that they can use for our security and safety. Don't worry though, only they and some 3rd parties will have access to this backdoor and no one will find it because it will be hidden Brick Wall

They do need it, but I very much doubt they understand that:

The Investigatory Powers Act, made law in late 2016, allows the government to compel communications providers to remove “electronic protection applied … to any communications or data”.

Don't forget David Cameron pledged to ban whatsapp if the companies dared to actually have secure encryption schemes!.

Dark times ahead

Looks like they don't have to though. Basically if you don't use credit/take part in the rat race you don't exist. Its the way things are going. Dont use credit? Dont have Internet access? No email address? You're screwed.

I've yet to find myself unable to purchase anything through lack of a credit card. Even renting a van recently where they said they needed one, hidden in the small print of the small print they still accepted debit.

You are talking about a party that has its nasty mitts all over the politician paedo scandal and regularly has MPs found chocking on oranges or tupping rent boys.

Of course the cunts haven't thought it through - they didn't even think through something simple like how not to piss off bitter old selfish people at election time.

There is going to be the greatest mass act of civil disobedience the world has ever seen when this comes into effect.

A group public wank outside No10?

Hehe, but seriously, the stigma of porn has gone, and the fear of getting caught is a laughable one, so several million men are going to be VPN'ing with aplomb, and even if some people are made an example of and put through the courts, the sheer numbers of 'Offenders' will make this a pointless and futile exercise. Also, imagine the rhetoric from the witness box:

"We asked you to protect our children. We didn't mean banning Xhamster. We meant you getting off your arses and deporting violent rapey savages!"

Do you imagine it will be made an offence to access porn without providing a credit card number?

Yes, because they are using the BBFC to administrate it on the British end. The BBFC is about censorship, and always was. Certain kinds of sex are magically going to be NOT VIEWABLE. They will not have a credit card gateway and so to us in Blighty they will be verboten. So if you use a VPN, the crime will be "Obtaining banned content by non-legal means".

But, like I said, the stigma and fear with respect to vanilla porn is long gone. This doesn't stop prudes like Teresa May from wanting the UK to return to the period that the internet (and particularly broadband) ended.

You know, the reason I fight against Islam is because creeping Sharia will eventually remove liberties like Porn. I just never expected it would come by putting Mary Whitehouse in Downing Street in 2017.

I ask because you haven't mentioned one.
