I have a Italika Ft 250 ts 4 stroke , Idle´s ok, runs strong with load only. when i come to a steady speed it misfires and sputters. like its being choked out. Its still new under 3k km. Took it to the dealer and they said a wire on the coil was loose. when taking it home same thing. took it back and they told me thats how this modal runs?

I changed out all the gas,
new plug,
stator charging at 14.5 v

has one of thease vacum petcock ?

Tell me , anybody know what i should look at ?

Sounds like a weak mixture at that point / revs, is it carbed or fuel injected?

Dealers problem not yours, this is not normal for your bike so demand they sort it.

Most carbs have starter, pilot and main jets, if the bike engine is happy at the top/high revs then check for a weak mixture on the pilot side which mostly work up to 2/,3,000rpm .
Does the carb have a pilot air or fuel adjustment?

the carb only has idle ajustment screw

the bike only runs good underload and fast gear shifting , once up to a steady speed starts acting up. and also some backfire on deceleration . not too loud but some popping. symtems of running rich.
Only when running at 7000 rpm 100 km per hour it still missing but very slight.

show us a picture of the carburettor, it sounds like either someone has messed with the idle screw, or you have an air leak somewhere.

Im not going to take a pic of the carb, The Idle screw is fine and the air mixture screw is sealed tamper proof. I did do the gas thing at first, drained the tank and carb, no change

Sounds like it`s sealed on a weak mixture, try a denser air filter to prove it.

A new bike with a carb? I assume you're not in the EU?

If you hold the throttle wide open, does it run well only while it's accelerating? Or does it run well even when it's up to speed, if you hold the throttle wide open?

If you mean that it runs poorly at small to mid throttle openings, then I'd suspect the needle. Either it's at the wrong position, or conceivably it's come loose entirely. That'll require you to take the carb apart to see what's up.

Given that you won't even take a picture of the carb, I'd assume you're not keen to do this. So I'd strongly urge you to take a strap to your wife and make her "unscrew the warranty". It's OK, that's legal to do wherever bikes are still sold with carbs.

Yes, it`s like giving it a bit more choke/richer mixture throughout the rev range.

is there a good enough petrol flow from the tap maybe some restriction on the flow. petrol tap diaphagm faulty. petrol tap filter maybe restricted/dirty if your bike as one. what about the float height being wrong.

Ok added Two pieces of cloth between the two foam filters. Runs better, not perfect but better. Still have power. yes the carb has an issue. One day I will try to take it apart. Read somewhere that not all the time they build them correct. Will see

LOL i live in Mexico. they just started selling 250.s and just came out with a 300cc. I dont think the police down here llike bikes faster then theirs. Max speed is 80 km most places you go . 125.s and 150 are the most popular. all come with carbs. Pulsar Ns 200 has carbs . Only the rich import the 650cc and thats too much for me in traffic
