Sad times for the (mostly) British photography lighting company and inventor of the monobloc.

The parent company, Calumet, say that Bowens has to shut its doors as they are unable to keep up with their cheaper Chinese competition.

Surprising that they haven't just chosen to slap their branding on generic Chinese tat. Surely the name (never heard of 'em) must be worth something.

[UPDATE ON READING THE ARTICLE] Hmm, it implies that the Chinese manufacturers are getting out of the game of selling to re-branders, realising that those fat margins can be theirs. Thinking
