Just got a 600CBRRR and the seat is slippery as hell my balls are getting crushed by the tank making the thing extremely uncomfortable to ride. I suspect the dealer has put polish or something similar on the seat.
Anyone else had this issue when buying from a dealer?
The seat does look nice but the pain is agonizing and it is probably quite dangerous.

It will wear off. They have probably sprayed it with "back to black" or similar silicone based "polish".

It won't take long to wear off. Give it a good going over with a clean cloth if it's that bad...

What do you wear when riding? I found most of the bike seats slippery, when not wearing motorcycle gear (my bike pants have rubber arse part).

Contact adhesive and emery cloth. You won't worry about your balls sliding!

You could just learn to enjoy the feeling of crushed nuts I hear some people pay good money for the sensation.

This is why you grip the tank with your knees when you expect or anticipate hard braking.

Just wash it a few times.

"Dangerous" get a grip, seriously. If you think a slippery seat is dangerous maybe motorcycling isn't for you. Rolling Eyes

How do you shift your weight on the seat, when your arse is glued to it? Thinking

You've clearly not experienced this. You should try it, stick some "back to black" on your saddle, go for a ride wearing leathers then come back on here and tell us it isn't dangerous.

My Dad used to clean my bike when I went home (fair enough, if it bother him that much). But he put back to black on the saddle twice rendering it almost impossible to keep your arse on. After the second time (having asked nicely the first time) I told him if he did it again, I'd do the pedals in his car.

First time he did it, I jumped on the bike, pushed it up off the sidestand and nearly slid off the other side.

Not much will shift silicone either. Some vinegar on a microfibre cloth is probably the best bet.

I have experience this multiple times. I just clean it off and/or remember it's there (if I'm feeling lazy). I'm still here.

I used cockpit cleaner ( tasteless puns invited )on my seat thinking it would look nice and shiny .
It did but it was too feckin slippery!
Dunno about dangerous but it was irritating
I lke to shift my arse about at times when riding but at a time of
my own choosing not because of a too slippery seat.

Probably Mr Sheen or GT85. It's cheap and makes vinyl look really nice. MucOff/FuchsOff/other cheap soap, water and a rag. Rinse. Repeat.

I did this on my Mini Moke once (classic vinyl seat version)

First roundabout we came to, Mrs Hans slid out the side. I was not popular.
