Bert told me to have a swig of the holy drink (aka carpet cleaner) and has now made it clear to me that the Thai restaurant also serve Pizzas and the Marjay has to die... Pale

Embarassed That holy drink is a bit too powerful for me....
Apparently whilst I was under it's influence, my mother called.
I gather that she mentioned that she'd bumped into her friend Margie who was buying some hair dye...

So MarJay's safe.... for the moment Wink

Doc Snoosnoo said it. Thumbs Up

What I can add is be a good human. Good people still have bad things happen but at least they can have support from other good people.

Note: Bad humans who surround themselves with good people...well that's what I call a win-win situation. Razz

I once took some lucky heather from a lady in Oxford Street YEARS AGO when I first came to London. I declined to pay her for it. I was still naive in the ways of the beggars and blaggers on London's streets.

She allegedly (according to the person I was with) put a curse on me, that I would die if I ever went to Spain (I don't know how this was decided or interpreted).

Conveniently, I did not go to Spain for many MANY years (luckily I married an Italian so went to Italy a lot for our hols instead) ... but when I finally did, 2 years or so ago ... I have lived to tell the tale.

I do have a "lucky Russian spoon", though : the deal being that when you polish it, the spoon brings money into the house...

(a spoon putting food into your mouth, so therefore you must have money to buy food, something along those lines).

I am the queen of skepticism but I conscientiously accepted the spoon as a gift from my beloved best friend. Its a wooden spoon which is traditionally painted in gold and Russian decoration. You can probably get 5 for a rouble at the Duty Free Shop.

I don't pay it the attention it probably requires - it just sits on the windowsill or the bookshelf - but interestingly, I have noticed over the years that when I do dust the spoon, i.e., if I polish it with my t-shirt in passing, some sort of substantial financial increment often happens along, either a cash sum or a nice chunky freelance job I wasn't expecting. Its not normally endowed upon me immediately, and not always huge amounts. But enough for me to occasionally think "Oh! Perhaps I shall polish my spoon today".

No doubt if I were desperately skint and polished it every day, no money would come. But if I do it randomly, eventually a comfortable sum does indeed seem to turn up.

Cool So I currently choose to believe in its virility Cool

You have been to Spain. You will, at some point, die. I don't see how you can argue with this witch's prophecy.

Laughing Shall I not go there again, just in case...

Maybe I have some quiescent lurgy which I collected whilst there, and which is waiting for the right moment to kill me off. A touch of Tardy Legionnaires, bad-wine-AIDs or some such Rolling Eyes

I did eat a spectacularly rich chocolate ice cream cone whilst there. Probably it had so much cacao in it that its slowly ossifying my internals ... Thinking

I interpret "you will die if you ever go to Spain" as "avoid Spain and thou shalt be immortal"

You've been. The damage is done now. You've lost your immortality.

I'd like to just point out that my lucky Russian spoon came through, this very week, after I spoke of it fondly.

Cool
