Pulled Main and Idle jets - Previous owner upped the jets already ("Tuned, innit laaaa"), 105+35 vs stock 100+30. Put new jets to those values in, went to test it, anaaand the battery is flat. Will test tomorrow, if it's still shit, I'll chuck stock values in as it's still got an airbox, not a K&N.
Guess I'm getting a lift into work tomorrow, it's started to piss it down and I don't fancy lifting the tank to get it back on in that.[/img] ____________________ '98 VFR800 (touring) - '12 VFR800 Crosrunner (Commuting) - '01 KDX220 (Big Green Antisocial Machine) |

Scoots in for MOT at 09.00
Edit - And passed clean sheet. Tester was complimentary about its mechanical condition.
He was not so complimentary about the cosmetics as it has been chucked down the road a few times by the last owner. ____________________ Currently enjoying products from Ford, Mazda and Yamaha

6" over, lowered 2" in the back, 2" in the front and run with tie-downs. It still wheelies. A lot.

Hence the clip-ons, trying to get weight further forward. You can see I haven't even got the clutch out in that pic and she's already up.
It's over 200hp and about 150lb/ft of torque so it's a handful, it's also about 250kg with all the turbo gear and extra oil (5.2 litres in this!). It's built primarily for road riding with a nod to straightline every now and then. Best time so far is a 10.009 @143. Really want to run a 9 hence the clip-ons and a bit of extra boost. Hopefully should push me over the threshold. ____________________ Bikes: too many, too much for one man to maintain anyway. |

Caught one of the chain adjuster bolts on the point of seizing, so left them overnight with a bit of penetrating fluid, which fortunately was sufficient for the job, as I don't have anything suitable to get heat on them. Today, cleaned them up and copper greased them. Now both can easily be screwed all the way in and out by hand.
Examined the chain, as I thought I spotted a seized link the other day when applying a squirt of lube, but after cleaning and checking, all seem fine. ____________________ Chickenystripgeezer's Biking Life (Latest update 19/10/18) Belgium, France, Italy, Austria tour 2016 Picos de Europa, Pyrenees and French Alps tour 2017 Scotland Trip 1, now with BONUS FEATURE edit, 5/10/19, on page 2 Scotland Trip 2 Luxembourg, Black Forest, Switzerland, Vosges Trip 2017

Tried Harpic on my downpipes and gave the rest of the bike a wipe down with an oil soaked rag.

Re-fitted a slightly bodged throttle cable to the Enfield with the proper bits.
Wouldn't start up.
